Machine polishing

Right, how hard is it? and how easy is it to get wrong?

I'm really tempted to get a rotary, or is this suicide for my paintwork?

Would I be better just getting a DA and working my way up to a rotary, help! I'm also in the process of researching on detailing world.

It's harder to do damage with a DA. You can get very good results with one and they're easy to set up and use. If you can I'd say start with a DA and then you can progress to a Rotary when you're more confident/competent an you will always find buyer for your DA should you outgrow it.

Or, go straight to a Rotary but get down your local scrapyard and pick up a couple of spare panels to play with. You have to be more careful with a Rotary, especially on swage lines and panel edges. But once you know how to use one you can get very good results again.

thats what I was thinking willis, getting a couple of bonnets from the scrappy and seeing what I can do and trying different combo's to achieve desired results!

Mine is here if you want to use it and try:wink:.badbuzz came he used and found it great so the offer is there for you mate
