"The M6 toll road is privately owned therefore the national speed limit of 70MPH does not apply"

Wrong. You can be done for doing more than 70MPH on the toll road. According to my friends' dad, a Motorway Traffic cop in the Midlands.

So don't go on the M6 Toll to try out the top speed of your little beasties :smile:

Who would like to volunteer to test the theory?
I'm with Mike on this one or this will happen... :f1team07:

They can if its for public use.

There is a road in Peterhead (Mike down by the harbour round the back) its a twenty zone and police often sit and try get people because you are able to get your car up to stupid speeds it gets used as a race way.

^^ This is correct. Under the Traffic Act, the police can enforce speed limits or other parts of the legislation as the road is available for public use and is a highway. You'd be very suprised just how many roads are built on private land. But this makes no difference!!
