Jostheboss' Black 197 FF!

So I've had the car a while now, thought I'd put some pictures together.

Don't really want to go mad modifying the car, but I'd like to do a few subtle things.

Bit of a background, this is my old car....

On track at Bedford....

Then I cocked up and did a dirty downshift on the motorway.... and did this.....

So then I changed the engine, sold it on and bought my Clio. Bought it from Martins in Basingstoke, as they made a real effort to find a car for me to test drive (when I was thinking of new cars) and made buying the used car a pleasure, not like other dealers who just care about the finance.

This is her on the day I said yes!

So she had a polish up, and took a few pictures

Then I fitted a Cup Spoiler, which I think makes it look so much better!

Then I had to buy a stubby aerial!

Then I also bought some Exhaust tips, Silvatec bulbs, RS Steering wheel insert and just yesterday I upgraded to LED lights. Contemplating de-silencing the exhaust, but still not sure about it.

I'm not interested in lowering it - I think it looks good as it is, and handles really well, so I'm not worried about screwing around with the geometry just for looks.

I also picked up a Megane footrest and carpet mat retainer clips today from Karl (thanks!) but haven't fitted the footrest yet so don't have anything to show you, but the mat clips work a treat - why didn't the mats come with these clips?!

Thanks to the forum for tips and advice - I just wish that I was better at taking photo's of black cars!!

Looking good dude! Love the black 197's. Needs lowering for the cup spoiler to suit it though IMO!

Planning any Track Days in the clio then?

Thanks!

Not yet - certainly not this time of year!

I might be racing next year in a friends Fiesta anyway, so won't need the track day bug!

Looking good mate.

Was the Punto a T-Jet? ONe of my mates had one for a couple of years, nice cars. My mum now has a MultiAir one, lovely to drive.

It was a M-Jet 1.9 Diesel (130bhp)

Really good car, if I hadn't popped the engine I would still have it - but didn't want to be driving round with an engine that I didn't know the history of, and I wasn't sure if all the ancillaries well still 100% - if the turbo had gone that would have been another £500 at least!

that looks well nice now mate glad to hear about not bothering to lower it i totally agree its what it is:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Fitted my new head unit today - Kenwood KDC-BT61U

So far so good - need to get used to looking down to see the display, and getting used to the controls. Very happy with the BT audi sync, even using iTunes Match, where its constantly downloading from the iTunes Store, its very fast. Not sure my iPhone battery will last long though, so having an iPod attached to the back is great. Install was easy, luckily the Clio dash comes apart fairly easily for routing the Microphone cables.

Next test is to try it with my stubby aerial, see if the signal is any good!!

Loving the celebrity phonebook namedrop.

Looks like a smart setup that, nice and neat.

I honestly didn't even see that!

Its organised by surname whereas my iPhone is organised by first name, so I never see Jaime's number! Apologies for anyone thinking that I was trying to show off!

Hahaha!!!

I didn't think that at all mate honest, my phone is set up to order in surname too. His name begins with A, obviously it'll be at the top!!!

Finally got round to fitting the Megane footrest. Made up an ally plate the same size as the footrest to go behind it so I could rivet it to something. Really easy, only took me 20 mins over lunch. Well happy with how it looks now

Sorry the pics rubbish, just took a quick one to give you an idea!

Looking good! I wanted to do the foot rest thing but wasn't sure where to get it, how much was it from Karl if you don't mind me asking?
