JMR's LY200

Totally normal for the gears to feel irregular when cold, 1st/2nd never feel smooth this time of year for the few minutes of running! I know @sevenfourate is experimenting at the minute due to notchy gear changes!

Renault dealership I use here I can’t fault, they’ve handled any little queries or issues I’ve had in 3 years ownership really well!

I never had notchy gear-changes as such. I had a slight stiff spot between 1st and 2nd after using what turned out to be a seriously ill-fitting gearbox oil for these cars !

Without being rude to anyone - i wouldn't use ELF again in my gearbox if it was free for life :sunglasses:

Couple of pics from day 2 of ownership.
Need to get some better ones when its had its first bath :relaxed:

Don't worry the door was on the latch in the above photo :tongueclosed:

First week of ownership has been nice.
Enjoyable going up through the box with the relatively short ratios, it makes great progress.

Lovely little engine and exhaust note.
Fruity...

Mods?
The mrs say once the wheels are done black, thats it.
I might sneak an ITG panel in when she's not looking

The car has had its first wash under my ownership today

I always think you really get to know a car when you start washing it, and usually notice a few chips/repairs/dents etc that you might have missed during all the excitement of getting a new car.

Pleased to say I'm really happy with the condition of the car, no surprises, no dodgy bits.

I iron x'd the wheels and christ they bled totally purple , then I scrubbed them with the wheel woolies after soaking them in Bilt Hamber Surfex HD for 5 minutes.
They cleaned up really well (bit of a waste of time as they're being blasted and powder coated on Thursday)

I dried the wheels and the rest of the car with the Metrovac blaster and then whacked a layer of Sonax BSD on it.
Glossed up nicely, in fairness the yellow makes it easy to spot tar spots and little bits or iron contaminants and brake dust, so they will get sorted out over half term.

Might get the credit card out tonight and get some more detailing gear.
I'm thinking of the yellow coloured Polish Angel Carnauba Arts spray, as Rapidwaxx and Black Wulfenite have been my favourite spray sealant/q.d products that I've used.

Auto Finesse Revive maybe for the black plastic bits and thats about it.

Which reminds me... I need to repair my DAS6 Pro + machine polished as it only works when spun round 90degrees, so sounds like a broken cable where it goes inside the handle.

Drivers side seat belt was pretty dirty, so I got round to soaking them in some wash liquid for 1/2 hour before giving them a gentle scrub with a soft bristle brush.

You can see the muck on this before pic

Wash and hung out the car in the sun and breeze to dry out

And after a couple of hours it was pretty much dry

A little job ticked off the list that I reckon I won't have to do again

Todays job has been dressing the scuttle panel and all the black plastics and rubbers with Auto Finesse Revive.
I picked a bottle up from the local motor factors in Lincoln.
I was amazed that they sold it - virtually anything Auto Finesse, they've got.
Fisher Motor Factors behind Listers Toyota and Mercedes dealerships.

Quite impressed, its darkened everything an added a 'like new' sheen.

I've also prepped and sealed the new windscreen I had fitted on Monday.
Cleaned with Angelwax Vision (jeez the product is good but it smells of pure ammonia solution!)
Sealed with Angelwax H2go glass sealant.
I love the H2go, its dead easy to apply and buffs off nicely to leave a crystal clear screen

Rain starts beading up at around 30mph.
I've been getting 3-4 months durability no problem, but until today I've never prepped the screen with the Angelwax cleaner.
