Insurance...its a license to print money!!!

I'm turning into Mr Angry...After ringing steallers to be quoted £115 for a windscreen trim, just got a insurance quote for 197. They want £1300 for a years cover. I'm 43 with 3 points from 2 years ago and 9 years NC. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

Thats bad for someone your age, try different insurers? I'm with admiral and pay just under £2,000.

I'm 20 with 1 years driving exp.

One massive factor is where you live, it's a bit of a postcode lottery with insurance.

does the fact that it was a write off make much difference?

Nop.....They recon its all the 3rd party claims thats pushing price up plus another increase from 2011 of 6%. Just had better quote £800...I live in a nice part of Bolton which means you generally pay more insurance cause you've got better cars and houses to steal from!!!!! lol

Must be the postcode, as I'm 33 with a clean licence and max NCB and pay £420 for a policy which allows me to do anything I want to the car (cage etc) and covers me fully comp on track.

I pay 900 ish, 21 years old, 2 years NCB and 1 non fault claim.

That's a rip off for someone your age

must be a mistake, either that youve somehow asked M&S for a quote.

im under £700, 24 with 6 points and 5 YNC. - Admiral (2nd year in a row unbeatable)

M&S wanted £5500 :s

Lol ofset the cost of ure policy against all the people who claim for whiplash and time off work when there is nothing wrong with them then tell me its a license to print money. Sorry but it can cost insurers in excess of 10k per claim these days no wonder policies are so expensive.

It boils my blood really does if we get out of this claim culture policies wud be cheaper

Unfortunately insurance is not a licience to print money. Recently insurers have been paying out upto £125 for every £100 taken in premiums.

Anyway I'm 28 and pay £700 and I have a 10k claim last year! (stolen 225)
