In love with 197 again.

Went through a bad couple of months with my 197, fell out of love with it, as little things were bugging the hell out of me, but these last couple of weeks I've realised what an amazing car it is, going from other cars to driving it makes it feel like its in a whole different league (which it is), and then going on random blasts locally, you jus feel like you can never lose grip, I get more scared the harder I push it around bends but it still feels planted!

And then over the last week I've had four different occasions where people have commented on my car, twice at petrol station, my manager at work today said it looks amazing and a random bloke on my work car park came and picked my brains about it when I was about to leave work.

Long live clio sports I say.

I was the exact same mate until I got the ball joints done and the key marks sprayed now I'm well and truly in love with the cup again

The grip is scary on the roads!! Amazing! 888's and coilovers are even more scary! I dont even want to attempt to find the same level of grip lol! Just track me thinks

That's awesome dude! Glad it worked out for you all ok, best get the cleaning gear out at the weekend then

If only the same had happened with me :worried: When I had the Fiesta ST for a month last year, it was to re-kindle the failing love for the 197 - it had the opposite effect, and since then, I never felt I truly loved the 197, and it has now gone :worried:

what made you fall out of love with it mike?

I think the underlying issue was cost. But I do usually change my car every 2 1/2 years, and it was around that time I started to fall out with the car.

I don't miss it at all shockingly (i'm sure in a couple of weeks time, that may change lol), I don't miss 27/28MPG to and from work, where I now get 43MPG - when you do 50 mile round trip a day, it adds up....

I'll be back in a 200 within a couple of years, I know it!:poke:

I drive a merc sprinter all day so i cant wait too jump in the 200 weekends I still need to come over and have a butchers at your car mate

How the hell u get 43 mpg i'll never no! Motorway run?

We have an 8 seater toyota as our 'sensible' holiday car / make shift van.

Go to pull out at a junction.. just nothing, trundles along. 2.2 diesel turbo! (and about 3 tonnes)

Get out of that and into one of the RS's and it's just bliss!
