It is illegal for the wheel/tyre to protrude beyond the bodywork, but it is not an MoT failure, so uou would need a police officer to spot it (or for you to have an accident) for there to be a problem.
Looks like it will foul the outer arch under compression though, which could be expensive.
Stupid question but do you have to have the 35mm adapters? Or do these allow them to be fitted in the first place? For example, a different bolt fitment from vw to renault etc etc.
Theyre off a bmw so the PCD is 5x120, thinnest adapters i can find (so far) are 33mm thick. As it was when I offered it up to the car, I was happy with how it was at ET15 fairly confident that it woudnt scrub or anything.
And how I worked out that it will still end up at around -8 is because Ive heard that apparently when you machine a wheel you cant take anymore than 7mm off.
I'l have another look at the back of the wheel and see how much "could" come off.
