Hello....just bought a 197 and what better place to come!!

Hello,

Just thought I would introduce myself, names cam based in Southampton and treated myself to a 197 today as I just turned 21! Its Blue got 27,000 miles and I love it from the two short test drives I have had. Picking it up saturday so cannot wait, will update the thread when I pick the car up, have some pretty iffy pics at the moment which don't do it justice!

Not too sure on which of the two it is will post a pic later when on laptop. If it helps its blue and some lights looks as if it has a hint of purple. I didn't realise alibi and racing were two different colours, thought it was the same if I'm honest and people called it different!!
 
Sounds like albi blue to me, same as the gordini 200? Whereas racing blue is the same as the 182 cups.
 
Albi is a metallic, dark blue.

Racing is gloss, light blue.

Either is a great colour!
 
Sorry about the apalling pics, taken on a blackberry last saturday when it was pissing it down doesnt show the true colour. I will let you decide which the colour is!!

I'm still new at this but that looks like the albi blue to me.

Metallic paint.

The racing blue is a flat non metallic colour.
