good paint match?

Do you think this is an acceptable paint match?

Its the bump strip from the near side taken off andplaced next to the one the otherside....

Renault told me it was acceptable and that was Renault UK....

The left piece is 5weeks old and the other side is a year old so can't of faded much at all really. Id expect a better match.

Nope Renault UK have told me its the same.....

its strange as the blend to the bonnet is quite good. Just frustrating... if its not going to be sorted Im selling the car its a nightmare and i resulted to driving anything but the clio for 2 weeks as it annoyed me looking at it!!

It does not look a good match but in all fairness one is new (5 weeks old) and the other part is filthy.

Both are just as dirty but it should match? If it was 5 or more years old id accept a difference but the difference is a year! Its nothing in paint life but Renault think its acceptable and.it makes me.look like ive had a fairly big shunt in it as half the cars painted when its the front wing was damaged so why is that rear piece of bump strip even painted?

That's a poor match, don't accept what they say, as it's your car, I heard that liquid yellow needs some sort of special painting technique not sure what though?

That's never been the same colour! Don't accept it mate like I said on fb ask for a parts steal off production line they can do it if they want just keep at them and keep going higher through Renault UK

Why was it sprayed?

Is the colour match as bad when the item is fitted to the other side?

Why did you accept the car back if you noticed the match was bad?

If the car is on finance your best bet is to go through them. They will give RUK a kick up the arse. Or the other option is right a nice letter to a big wig at RUK head office (sure someone here has some names and addresses). Just dont give up, took me 2 years to get RUK to accept the front end of my old 200 was screwed up.

I would love a part steal but need a whole new side haha.

was sprayed as someone hit it :worried: all this agro over someone cracking my wing and bumper.

As they sprayed half the car to try and cover it up and worked when I went to pick it up but looking closer I saw it didn't match :worried: i am keeping on at them but they sent.someone out who said it was acceptable!! I couldn't believe it when I was told that so want to see the guy that done it and.show him that!

My two pence worth, firstly I'll come to Renault's defence (can't believe I'm saying that). Not only is LY a metallic colour it's also what's called a 2 stage pearl. The short of this mean that when the paint is applied direction of spray has a massive impact so the way the light hits the metallic particles changes based on direction. If you remove a panel from one area of most LY cars and put it against a panel on the opposite side of the car chances are it will look different. The thing that's important is the panels that are adjacent match each other.

However, the colour of the part of the left doesnt look correct to me, like it's missing a stage or that it was just done badly. For me it lacks the metallic sparkle that you get from LY and the greenish effect. I've had parts of our LY 182 resprayed, to get it done and matched in well was both time consuming and expensive, a body shop really need to know what they are doing to match LY and I'm not sure the people that sprayed that do.

If your not a million miles away from brian Leightons in Howden, Goole then request that you want steve to assess it when you call RUK as he's a pearl specialist and has sprayed a couple of panels on my Liquid Yellow 200 because the original had manufacturing faults. The match is 100% perfect though I must admit if you meet the paint shop manager Carl, he is a utter ****** and request you want Steve to look at it!

Yeah I appreciate that but the angle is the same and I know that the match would be a lot closer than what it is. They didn't need paint half the car when they said they'd paint the front half of the door. they lied to me about it too. its frustrating.
