Flashing Engine Management Light

Had the Clio out for the first time on Saturday for the first time since the middle of December as I was doing a good few bits to it over winter.
Twice when I was out the engine management light flashed a few times then went out again.

Over winter, I put a toyo manifold and new precat lambda sensor on. A new induction kit was also added to the car. There hasn't been new fuel in the car since October.

Could any of the above cause this?

Did you keep the plug for the acoustic valve plugged in when you put the induction kit in? If not you will need to.

It is plugged in yea, the car has never had an acoustic valve

Ok that is ruled out (people have put induction kits on and never plugged them in).

I had it on my standard manifold, but that had broken away from where the runners meet the flange, so could it have a leak on the engine side, when you put the Toyosport Manifold on? Did you use the gasket they provided? I heard they are crap and seen others on here use OEM gasket (on my R27 I had OEM one on a toyosport).

I did use the toyo gasket :/ probably a nightmare to change now too. cant remember if the manifold comes off the studs enough without removing a pile of things

Yeah it is a pain, check first if you can see any signs of leaks, as it could well be fine, but mine used to flash randomly for the leak coming out the broken runner, as the first lambda wasn't getting what it expected to come through (due to going out to air).

I had this - if you have a cheap OBD scanner (bluetooth or wifi one) use that and an app (like Torque) and run a scan for fault codes. It will probably throw up a P0300 or something similar which is misfire in one or multiple cylinders. From there I would check the condition of coils and plugs - one of my coils was really badly corroded so I replaced the lot with genuine along with the plugs and I've never seen the engine light since.

Also - there were no patterns, I had changed to the toyo exhaust system but it was there prior to changing I just didn't know or realise to do anything about it.

I'm up in Cookstown I have a Renault clip I can look at it for you can swap parts if you want are you sure it was the engine management light and not the traction light.

Yea defo engine management light I have a cheap OBD thing knocking about somewhere. I'll give that a go if not I'll give you a shout

Is there any CAT still fitted, the Renault clip can run a calibration test on the CAT to bring the Lambdas back into play I had an emissions warning driving normal on the motorway ran the test without doing any work to the car one of the lambda readings did seem to be stuck before hand I think you said before you said something about running rich could be a faulty injector but we can check.

Doesn't have a pre cat anymore (the one in the manifold) when I had it connected to clip to turn the airbag light off we saw that the first lambda wasn't reading causing it to run rich. New lambda now fitted

The front one does the work the second one checks it so you should have had an emissions light before hand the car might have went into a safe fueling mode. A regen from the clip should kick everything back into life.
