Time for some updates.
Got rid of the original rubber lines and pedal feels much better, very little free play and then it goes pretty solid,of course whoever replaced the line on this side done a shitty job and the union was seized, replaced with a stainless one and reflared it.

One set of RC5+ and the discs were already looking like this,so i replaced the brakes and got RC8 this time and kept the old carbon lorraine as spare as there is still some meat left and they aren't cheap, for the discs I got the drilled Brembo high carbon from Kam Racing.

Altough they dont squeal much so bit disappointed, should i try the Ferodo counterpart instead?

On another matter I fitted these lower arm ball joints in Dec 23 and covered about 10k miles and the passenger side already has massive play and knocking like crazy so wont use them again and went with Ocap from FrogJam.

I got some aluminium seat mounts from JJC race and rally to save some weight as I had SWM steel mounts before, they save 2.9kg per seat, they sit quite low tough so might need spacers.

The old radiator looked tired and old so got an upgrade for future proofing from Toyosports,it holds about 7 liters of coolant now from the 5 of before.

Used this kit with bolts to secure the fan as it's quite heavy, seems to work nicely.

All the red paintwork was flaking off and got tired of looking at it so wrapped it in nardo grey, the roof was the worst part.
Some pictures while in progress.

Maybe the red wheels are a bit much but it's easy to get them powder coated if i get bored lol,

With the turini weighing 9kg and all spacers removed you save 7,3 kg in total and it being a rotational mass you can definitely feel it when driving.

PXL-20260402-164956705.jpg

Standard wheels weight 10.2 kg.

4x spacers:

While I was there I darkened the third brake light a bit so you can't see it under the spoiler until it comes on and also fitted an LED bulb.

Used C5 wheel armour to protect the wheels from the dusty carbon lorraine pads, hope it will be good.

Few weeks back we drove to Turin with a friend,we stayed between the Italy/France border to find some nice mountain passes to drive,we did 1800 miles in 4 days and the Clio gave zero issues (apart from the dipped beam stopped working the last day but that was an easy fix,see below).

Some pictures and video for any interested.

The left dipped beam stopped working all of the sudden, done some checks with the ballast, power and bulb itself and all was okay, then i had the headlight plugged in while wiggling some relays in the engine bay and sure enough it started working again, cleaned the corroded relay with some sandpaper and applied dieletric grease to prevent from happening again.

PXL-20260508-120322792.jpg

Also fitted a fiberglass boot to save some weight with the plastics 4 performance hard coated rear window.

Correction: the original boot weighs 16.2kg,this includes the locks although without internal plastics or wiper motor assembly as these were already removed (I think there is another 2,5kg there from a quick search} and without the spoiler (spoiler is 1.6kg) so you save 9.6kg.

The fiberglass boot weighs 4 kg without the rear glass.

PXL-20260329-191232613.jpg

Also fitted ARP conrod bolts.

-24,3 kg but need to add the weight of the wing mirror and polycarbonate window to this, still need to weld in a door bar tough.

Few weeks back I drove to Italy again this time on my own,by chance I noticed on the italian clio forum there was a Clio meet that takes place every year and this time it was at the track in Parma called Autodromo Varano de Melegari, this was actually a few days before the holiday I had planned so I decided to move the tunnel ticket earlier so I could attend this.

PXL-20260711-050024711.jpg

Well didn't have the best start XD,still on the English side and noticed my cruise control disengaged by itself twice, the second time it actually put the engine in limp mode, pulled over, turned the engine off and on again and all seemed to work again okay.
I had some spares with me of course and after a while I had some time to see if it was just the accelerator pedal faulty and i think it was, swapped this over and switched on cruise control again and the fault didn't return luckily.

Made it to the first stop in France without any more issues.

Woke up early at 5 the next morning to make my way into Italy, the motorway just after the border has some amazing mountain views. (Valle di Susa)
So after a few hours of driving I stopped for some fuel and breakfast.

Lots of tunnels at this point so I got carried away.

So after about 5 more hours I arrived at the track, there was a mix of road and race cars going around all day.

Before track time they actually organised a "parata" for all Clios to go on track together and take some pictures and videos.
