You also don't want to make any sort of resale difficult, if it's vastly different people may not be interested in buying it... have to think of these things.

Just trim to match the rears, making sure it's classy but that shouldn't be too hard for you, everything else you've done is.

Trimmed to match the original seats, carbon effect backs. Will look classy, give the benefits of Recaros & a kind of "original", but better look that I can't see anyone objecting to. Personally I'll be dead jealous!

Carbon dipping itself is pretty quick but it's all the other associated painting that takes the time. You need to prepare the surface for painting (and smooth the textured plastic), prime, paint in a dark grey, dip in the carbon film (which is basically a sheet of patterned glue floating in the surface of water in a tank), lacquer, flat down and polish. Check this link out for how it works, it is very cool

A bit late to the party here as you've already made the decision, however I do think the carbon backs would look immense! You don't get to see the benefit, but you know they're there

Thanks Jimmy. I agree entirely. I'm not fussed I can't see them but it's nice to know they're there. And occasionally I will take the kids in the car and get to see them. It's a bit like the guys who tidy up their engine bay and hoses, etc, you don't have the bonnet open all the time but it's nice to know what's underneath is smart and tidy

I think it goes for a fair few mods - a lot of them are generally unseen, or difficult to tell what they are at a glance. However just knowing that they're on the car is part of the satisfaction of doing it in the first place - whether people know or not.

So the recaros have gone

Took them to the trimmers yesterday. Unfortunately he is very busy so I won't see them again for a while. This is good though for my finances as well as giving me some time to finalise the design.

Only other news is that my mudflaps turned up today. Yes, mudflaps! The wider alloys and more aggressive offset is starting to worry me as I can hear gravelly sounds in the work carpark and don't want the side of my car pebble dashed.

Almost forgot, Simon from Sprayshack has finished my dash surround too so pics soon
