I have R1 compound... They come in 4 compounds:

S This is Soft, suitable for wet use, hillclimbs and short sprint.
M This is Medium Soft, suitable for the above plus tarmac rally.
R This is Medium Hard, suitable for tarmac rally and easy circuit use.
H This is Hard, suitable for all circuit racing.

Very popular in Japan and Australia, almost everybody drives on them on Targa Tasmania rally:

And they hold Nurburgring record for production, street-legal vehicles with Radical SR8 LM

Downside is that they are very expensive:

4h are great for test suspension, i can change rebound from some laps..
