engine miss fire at 2500/5000rpm

Hi any suggestions my Clio Gordini 200 has an intermittent miss fire at 2500 rpm and a permanent miss fire at 5000 rpm and have not been able to rev beyond the 5000 rpm mark at all . Any help would be appreciated.

Spark Plugs might need a change? They're due every 36K miles I believe.

I had the exact same problem when I first bought my Clio, it wouldn't rev past 5k, seemed like it had a rev limiter at the 5k mark.

Had the spark plugs changed but it ended up being a faulty coil pack

I had a Coil pack go in my previous car (Ford Focus), that tripped the EML light though and went into Limp mode - surprised the same doesn't happen in the Clio?

+ 1 for coil packs or faulty crank sensor. Read fault codes.
