disc thickness

anyone familiar with the front and rear disc thickness on the 197 new and minimum values is what I m after, thanks!

I found 28mm for the new fronts and 26mm minimum, but cant find anything on the rears, so would appreciate any help!

alot of discs have max/min thickness stamped on the outer edge of the disc

thanks for the help, the dealers told me my rear ones are still ok, changed the front ones today as they were razor thin

Just for future reference, had this written on my service sheet today:

Front Pads Minimum = 6.5 mm
Front Disk Minimum = 26 mm
Rear Pads Minimum = 7.5 mm
Rear Disk Minimum = 9.5 mm

Do our pads start out at 15mm?
And what the hell do the Rear Disks start at? 9.5 mm seems very low!

those do include the disc pad backing ? or is it just "material remaining" ?

rears are thin because they arent vented

That suggests you can only lose 2mm from the disc thickness before they need changing? Doesn't sound like that much

sounds about right to be honest - 2mm/28mm - if your being anal about it

i have a tendancy to just go by eye/experience...

Oh yeah, silly me! Not sure how they are measured. I would guess its just the material? But you know Renault, nothing is ever simple!

dealers told me i was on 27mm so i would need them changing before next service. lol, i think not.

U could as way go by this - if u stop there fine, if u don't they need changing. Haha

minimum on the fronts is definitely 26mm
I think its 7mm on the rears as they are an 8mm disk. although the bearings normally go before the disks gets that low

rear disks are 11mm brand new, and 9mm minimum is what I found out recently, thanks for the help all!
