Whats the 'u bend' pipe bit over the fuse box and is it suppose to be open on the end of it? Looks like part of the air filter????

Have a look in Mike's airbox thread.

I think it's an acoustic valve, you can hear it open once you get to a certain amount of revs and the induction noise suddenly changes

It wont be open when the engines on tickover or off.

Just leave it be lol. Many have toyed with it all to no effect.

yep makes no difference

the only thing i have done is block off the pipe that goes into the acoustic box on the main intake pipe

not sure it does anything though lol

I've removed mine, but I'll also add you'll gain absolutely nothing (unless someone can prove me wrong) - The only reason I've done it is to ensure it is open all the time and I'm getting as much air into the box as possible, which IMO stops it heatsoaking as badly under constant hard use, such as a track day.
