Still think for a 10" plate its the right thickness in Aluminium.

Your right ben, under 3mm would bend, but it would be attached to the floor, not used as a pedal. 3mm will be fine, will give it a nice sturdy look!

Over time i would expect it to pick -up and shape to any imperfections in a lesser material thickness possibly. Hence 3mm as you say......

I have complete confidence in Shuv so will step out at this point...
3mm will make no difference to aesthetics or ergonomics and will weigh a few grams more than say 2 or 2.5mm.
What it will do is give us every chance of a plate that starts and stays flat !
I work with this stuff every day of the week as such..........
