Less than 3mm in aluminium would surely bend to easy?
Wow this site is educational That is thick though...
I stand corrected and thanks for the education
Still think for a 10" plate its the right thickness in Aluminium.
Appears thicker as the coin is so small of course........
I wish I'd finished my aero engineering degree...
Wish I hadn't said anything now lol... Literally just type what comes into my head.
Your right ben, under 3mm would bend, but it would be attached to the floor, not used as a pedal. 3mm will be fine, will give it a nice sturdy look!
Over time i would expect it to pick -up and shape to any imperfections in a lesser material thickness possibly. Hence 3mm as you say......
We all agreed then ?
I have complete confidence in Shuv so will step out at this point...
The weight saving brigade might have issues with all this lol
It was just a question never a disagreement
I never took it as that. Im pleasing 20 here - not just my good-self
LOL.. sounds like something my wife would say
3mm will make no difference to aesthetics or ergonomics and will weigh a few grams more than say 2 or 2.5mm.
What it will do is give us every chance of a plate that starts and stays flat !
I work with this stuff every day of the week as such..........
Im with you on everything
Horses for courses
Nice nickname, I like it! I was always more an Airwolf fan myself, but that could be to do with the black colour scheme
Old Eagle-Eyes Jimmy picking that up !
I was in a rush to get to golf after work one day - and the guy i was playing with reckoned he heard me coming for miles (Must have been an exceptionally still day )
He said - "I've heard every gear-change from 'Blue Thunder' for the last 5 minutes".
After that its stuck.
good to see my photo being posted and my designs copied...
so I design and make foot rests and pedals for many many cars (Renault ford Vauxhall fiat etc...)
