Cold air feed via the under engine splash shield scoop.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but could not locate any info. I assume,as above, the air flows under the front bumper, and splash shield, then up through the scoop, to aid engine cooling ? Has anybody used this route, as a cold air feed for a cone filter etc ? Obviously I realise, only use in dry conditions ! Hope makes sense. scoop on slpash shield 002.jpgscoop on slpash shield 004.jpg

It's not strictly a "cold air feed" but my maxogen is sitting just above the rear of the gearbox which IMO would receive all it's air from that scoop, measured air inlet temps at 31C (using cheap Chinese reader)
shouldn't relie put a hose down there anyway as I'm sure it's purpose is to cool the gearbox and I'd rather it cooled the gearbox than give me 1 or 2 hp
