Coilovers - Fitting cost?

Hey everyone, I have got coilovers on the brain and was wanting to know how much fitting is going to be before I can make a decision! I know a couple of you have had them done and I was wanting to know how long it takes and also how much difference it made to insurance premiums. I know its a lot of questions but if I can get some answers would be good!

Ktech want around £300 + vat I think for the fitting and set up but tbh any local compitent garage cam do it and you can get the settings from someone on here or just play around that's why you buy coilovers to get the car how YOU want it .

As for insurance I kicked up a stink about them wantng to charge me £225 to add them on asked to speak to a team leader who in fairness said so long as that was the only mod shed speak to the unserwritters and add them for free and for my trouble waver the admin fee ! So tbh depends who you are with .

Ps get some decent coilovers don't but cheap buy good ones or don't buy at all they are such a critical part of keeping you on the road it's not a place to skrimp.

I have the kw variant 3's and so does ben R1 and a few others so they seem to be the wepons of choice

Hope this helps matey

Thanks mate, yeah thats about what I was expecting! I saw Jases last weekend and it looks immense so I would probably go for the V1's unless I manage to get a deal as good as yours. I dont think I would ever adjust them TBH so V3 might be a bit of a waste. My main concern is actually getting in and out of the driveway. At the moment I struggle with getting out if there are 4 people in!!!

Thats quite bad news about the insurance I would be having serious words if they tried that!

Like you say there is no point doing it unless its going to be done properly!

Yeah it helps a lot mate!

Tbh any garage could fit coilovers.
We(me, keV, David, kevs cousin) fitted mine on kevs cousins drive.

Fred @ BTM is worth a shout - all depends on exactly what you want doing, i.e. fully adjusted or not but he has reasonable rates

yeah 300quid is shed loads for general fit. I got quoted that for full camber setup and cornerweighting which none of the above quotes would have included

Camber set up ? You have adjustable top mounts then ? As the Clio has no camber adjustment as standard .

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I have asked a friend who runs a specialist Porsche garage and he says he can do it for me which is really good. Now I just need to get on to the insurers and see what they say! I dont think it is going to be good with me being 22, I think I will be paying through the nose for it, but only one way to find out!

Cheers

no i dont have anything yet, as my coilovers havent been made yet, but yeah, solid adjustable top mounts were part of the setup, so price quoted included setting these up
