I've been trying to find somewhere local to remove the centre silencer and fit a straight pipe, but nowhere seems to be able to supply the pipe as well as fit it.

I've been looking online for pipes, and came across this. I think it would be a good halfway-house between noise increase and minimisation of flat-spot exaggeration.

Can anyone see why this would be a bad idea or if there would be any benefits/downsides?

I've had my centre silencer replaced with a straight through pipe by a company in Basidon, Essex called Pipecraft. But its too raspy for me and i'm thinking of changing back. But this, as you say, may be a nice halfway point, can anyone advise on the correct size? I might give it a go unless people come back with some advice not to?

swapping one silencer for another - waste of time i would say...

its either remove totally or leave alone

places like demon tweeks and larkspeed have exhaust pipes and fittings - even my local motorist place has them

if you have a quality pipe cutter you can even diy it by using clamps
