I havent got the money for a full system.. Would this be a good starting point for more noise in a 200? Also worried that it could be too loud (drones) when im driving normally?
Yeah it does exactly that, more noise at barely any cost.
I didn't think it was too drones although it is loader. If you don't like it then it's not a huge job to have the silencer welded back in anyway, so it's completely reversible. You may notice a bit of a flatspot after doing it though, it's very low in the rev range and if you're a smooth driver then you'll notice it less than somebody who is point and squirt.
Took the mid section silencer out of mine, flat spot was horrendous, just pottering around town (between 2-3 thousand rpm) just bogged down all the time, dont do it!! Now got the K-tec, soooo much better, no flat spot, so much more responsive
I had mine replaced with a stainless pipe, and i have got used to the flat spot issue and dont notice it now.
This is just a cheap way to make it sound abit nicer, best to get a performance system.
Shoul be doing this next weekend at Prospeed, Cardiff - just waiting for my mate to give the nod to book his meg 225 in at the same time and Charlie will do a deal for the pair of us - welded in, not sleeved though
just did mine today , well worth it , 30 quid , bloke i know makes stainless exhaust , was worth it just for the spin in his cosworth powered mk1 escort , good day and cracking job , and no real flat spot
