Car died on track - pointers on where to start

My mates Clio 200 died on track yesterday. He shifted from 3rd to 4th and in the time the clutch was depressed the car cut out.
We checked all fuses and earth's whilst we were there and couldn't find anything untoward. We plugged clip in and it couldn't read the ECU.

The car still cranks and the cambelt appears to be intact. He ended up getting the AA out and recovered him home. Fault codes they read are below

Any suggestions on where to start?

Could you take your Camshaft sensor off (as you know it works) and try it on their car?
As there is multiple problems, to me it sounds like a low voltage problem causing the car to flag up so many errors.

Similar to when my 740iL decided 5-6 error codes coming on at the same time on motorway (including automatic gearbox) and it was an alternator dying so giving low voltage.

We had an issue a couple of years ago, car just stopped at a Rockingham

Couldn't read ecu with scanguage

RAC came out and they couldn't read the ECU either, eventually had it recovered to Dave Hudson (now Motion Motorsport Longton)

He found the ECU fuse had blown and there was an engine loom connector that wasn't properly seated (probably had been like that since leaving the factory)

Cheers Paul. One of the first things we checked was the ECU fuse.

Will have to have a better look at the connectors

Being a BMW owner myself, I can relate to the battery issue problems :tearsofjoy:

My E38 and E36 both did this....haha

Yeah I think like Paul said it has to be fuse / electrical related, fingers crossed it's an easy fix!

The cars been sat in his garage since the trackday. But I nipped over earlier to have a little nosey.
Pulled the crank sensor to be greeted with this:

Did the clutch eat it or something? If so that's exactly what happened with my mates! Pressure plate basically exploded and took it out! [emoji23]

I'm assuming that's what's happened.
He's been moaning for months about it being tough to get into gear aswell, so maybe that was the start of the failure.

Got a trackday booked next month, so need crack on and get it in the garage

Looks exactly like mine did. Glad you got to the bottom of the issue!
