Can't even give away!

Some of you may have seen I have a set of Genuine OEM Rear discs and Pads for sale on here at the moment. I originally bought them from another member on here back in April time, however I never got round to fitting them and now need to clear some space. The problem is I cant even seem to give the things away!

I'm asking £45 for both the discs and pads together or £35 and £15 individually... is this too high? what do you guys feel would be a fair price? (the ad is here: http://www.clio197.net/threads/oem-rear-discs-pads-£45.58404/#post-675278 )

I thought something like this would sell very quickly... They are a general service item and although not new, have plenty of life left in them and a lot lot cheaper than buying direct! - Has the price of parts fallen even more than the value of these cars recently?!

Cheers

i think it probably a case where if one is going to buy these and then also pay for postage i rather order new set, if i can do the work myself then its great, but dont fancy paying a garage twice to do the job.

Price is more than fair bud, combo of things. Time of year, and its not one of those things people replace unless they have to or are upgrading.

Bloody good price. Only thing I can think off is that as they're used people may think they could be warped etc, highly unlikely I know being rears.

Thanks for the replies, Its good to know at least that I'm what im asking is fair. - If anything it seems that the low price is putting people off, too good to be true kinda thing. I suppose brakes are one of those things you don't want to take any chances on haha! @AmosMoses Feel free to give me a shout if you do need them, otherwise I guess I will be tripping over them for a while yet... :tearsofjoy:

Crazily good price, I think it's just an item that you will tend to buy new (£196 I paid by the way for OEM rear disks and pads!) but may not be an item that people will need that frequently. You might get a better response on the many Mk3 Facebook groups.
If you hold tight, someone will definitely have them off you.

Ah good shout! Thanks, may give that a try instead.

it may of been beneficial to wire brush the discs & get rid of the surface rust then sprayed them with some wd40 to stop rust & given the pads faces a light rub over with emery to make them look more presentable...but for the price should still sell

Thanks, I considered doing as you suggest as admittedly they do look pretty ropey. Was concerned though that it would make people think I was trying to hide something or distract from potential faults.
I'm always amazed at just how quickly these brembo discs gather surface rust!

Foxxy raises a fair point actually, if I were on the market I would be put off the fact they look old and worn. Even if there not.

Presentation is key!

WD40 on the face of the disc?
