Some good gains there litchy! Were did you have the schricks fitted if they were'nt timed correctly? Nice to know its all working well with the remap
Locally. Dont want to disclose anymore more than that tbh.
Litchy, how its it with fueling? Been chatting with Will about cams, do we, dont we, think I will... Lol what do you think about fitting Meg injectors?
.
+1
Only had it back a day but seems right. If you've got the money, its a great mod. Don't get me wrong, not life changing but if you get a buzz from revvin' and really driving the clio...the cams makes you want to take the long way home every day. Real drivers car and makes you feel like a driving 'demiGod'. I'd say 30% better than standard. Also remember, in the real world, 197's average bhp is 185bhp. This represents 35bhp (including other mods) increase.
Quick solution, cheers mike. Been toying with either Catcams our Shricks but when litchy had problems I thought oh dear, not good. I know the Shricks are wilder which its my preference.
Font know much about CATCAMs tbh. The problems were never with the cams. It was where I had the cambelt fitted.
Chatted with David the other day at Ktec with a view to gettin the Catcams but now I see Litchys graph I'm swaying back to the Shricks
Im sure Ktec are fine, just I really trust RS mapping and rollers because they are realistic. I know mod airboxes arent gonna give you 8bhp as something as intrusive as cams only give you 15bhp. Its common sense. The TB will give you some low end torque than bhp.
I personally believe the clio 197/200 respond
to a combination of the right parts.
^^^youd get a deal if you got a few other bits done. Can't praise these cams enough. Of your gonna do it, then do it properly
They do Fernandez, every gear is just relentless power, transformed my car!
Im in northwest, more than happy for people to try before they buy lol.
Best advice. Talk to the tuners who live and breath Renaultsports. Be realistic about your expectations from NA car. I know its not about willy wavin' but you need a accurate Bhp of your car (not that it was making more than before) IMO. When your marking your own homework, you tend to get most of the answers right. 'It feels better' can be soooo subjective. If its not healthly, you need that honest appraisal because there may be other issues. My car was ill after fitting cambelt and still made 174bhp on rollers. TBH, I really didnt feel that it was down 100psi in 2 cylinders because of the valves. Compression test proved this.
Dont want to sound like an advert for RS tuning or others but you dont build 350bhp supercharged 182, drive the fastest R26R in Europe...or like others be involved in building cup racers if you dont have some knowledge. Not always the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I tried to cut corners and ended up paying more than I would in the first place *BE WARNED*
