Buying advice clio 200 85k FSH 5k vs 51k PSH 7k

Hi I would like to buy a clio 200 with cup chassis but they are rarely up for sale as it is in NI so may settle for non cup and normal seats. I don't want to pull the trigger though unless its been well serviced and looked after. So there are two available near me both are dealers. 1 is a 2010 FSH with Renault, white, normal seats with 85k on the clock(motorway i'm sure) for 5k or a liquid yellow one 2009 with Recaros 51k on the clock but only 2 stamps first one is at 30k for 7k.

Both have red brembos but apparently neither are cups and neither of the dealers can tell me what work has been done over the years because they are just stamps. I really need to know at the minimum if the cambelt and water pump has been done since its every 6 years/72k miles? The yellow car has just had a 140 point safety/service check at Renault and 4 new tyres but the dealer still couldnt tell me what else has been done to it just that if it needed anything it would have been done there at Renault. He also said that Reno said the cambelt doesnt need done until 78k miles even though the car is 8 years old!? I only do about 6k miles a year.

The yellow one seems a bit risky, overpriced and the white one is a bit high mileage although it is fully serviced so is it likely the cambelt and water pump etc where done? Or should I wait for another car to come up for sale? Any advice would be great thanks.

Service history over mileage tbh.
It's pretty well known the cars are pretty dependable when looked after, and the opposite when they're not.
Thanks yea thats what I was thinking. Do you think the cambelt has been done then on the one with FSH if its been stamped by Renault? No details or receipts on what was done.

In fairness if its been done by Renault they should be able to log in to the system and see what has been done.
Although this will only be if its been done at a Renault Franchise dealer, and then if the dealer has logged the work onto the Renault system.

Budget £450 for a cam belt.aux.water pump change and haggle on the price if everything else looks good to you mate.

If you know where it was serviced from the stamps then give them a call and ask, I have FSH but no receipts so I called up with VIN and they reeled off everything that they had done... Some poor sod payed £1300 for a cambelt + service at main dealer on mine!

Best to check beforehand because cambelt is a good £600 at a specialist, with higher mileage just beware of worn suspension etc.

Thanks everyone I will see if the dealer will give me the details and i will check with the garages to see what work has been done. Its nearly an hour away so I haven't looked at it yet.

As sidenote: I just got a bill from Renault for changing my steering wheel. There's also a part telling me when my next MOT needs to be done and below it there's a line that states "Note: Cambelt change at 120.000km or 06/2018". Which translates to 75k miles or 6 years (what ever comes first).

Besides that I've a question about the yellow colour. It seems it's called "Liquid Yellow" in the UK only while the rest of the world knows it as "Sirius Yellow". Or are there two yellows existing?

I would go with service history wether it's Renault or specialist or even DIY. I do all my own servicing and keep every receipt to prove it. Obviously the belt change is the most important factor here. You can tell a well looked after car, tell tale signs for instance are cheap tyres, if your skimping on tyres what else are you skimping on? As these cars appeal to younger drivers then high insurance costs, high running costs etc then maintenance can be ignored. Just some food for thought.
