butterfly valve clean, polish and power!

Hello, today was the first day I have had time to actually start doing some work to improve my clio properly, I unbolted the butterfly valve throttle system from the clio and after some research on here decided to clean it, and then remove the dimpled metel and remove the lip leading to the mechined polished part the butterfly lives in, after about an hour of sanding I then polished the whole of the inside of the housing using metal polish, when I was happy (mirror shine) I reinstalled the system and took my car for a test drive, apart from the much better sound I was getting from the engine I also noticed a huge improvement to the throttle response and also acceleration I can not say for sure if I have just restored some power or if I actually gained it but the clio is now nutty fast!! Thanks for all the advice off this forum she's now performing as fast as she looks!
