Brembo & Ferodo Front discs...

Hi all,

To try and keep this seperate from my pads thread, could I have opinions on the following please  I am looking to replace my discs for OEM ones or similar:

- Brembo Front Vented Brake Disc P/N# 09.8904.10 http://www.nextdaybrakes.com/brembo...1-20-16v-sport-pn-09890410-pair_p22300618.htm £87.95

- Brembo High Carbon Front Brake Discs http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2855&appid=3 £118.80

- FERODO Brake Discs Reference DDF1524 - Front Axle - Vented -Pair http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-70762-ferodo-brake-discs-reference-ddf1524-front-axle-vented.aspx £90.77 (w/25% discount atm)

Are the ones from nextdaybrakes and KTEC the same discs and are they the same as OEM ones? Has anyone tried the Ferodo discs (from Opie) as they are also relatively cheap at the mo and would be interested as to whether they are worse/same/better than OEM discs?

Any other recommendations around the £100-£120 mark are welcome

Many thanks in advance, please see my other thread for questions on pads and brake lines/fluid to save this thread getting clogged up with opinions on those  http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19557

Aren't the first two links for the exact same product, just described slightly differently?

Brembo only do "high carbon" discs for the 197/200/225 according to their catalogue, so both are the same.

I thought they probably were, thanks Ralphy.

You want the Brembo HC ones which are the same as standard, Next Day Brakes were the cheapest place when I replaced mine last year.

Not had any problems with them and done I've given them a good dose of abuse, believe me.

Cheers Willis, I will probably get the discs from nextdaybrakes from the link above as they are £87.95 including free postage, or from another source which may be cheaper

JoshV and All,

where did you end-up with your disc and pad change pls?

after yesterday's track-day at Hungaroring-Hungary's F1 track- it turned out that my front discs are burned- got some blueish colour and the OEM Brembo pads are close to finish.

There is 42k km in my car and yesterday was the 7th track-day, so let say the original discs last long enough, there is time to change.
But for what disc?
I found OEM Brembo for 70 quid, here:
http://www.apbrakediscs.co.uk/front-brembo-brake-discs-renault-clio-iii-2-0i-16v-sport-rs-06-on.html

what pads?
I changed the brembo oem pads in last autumn, and I have to say they are rubbish as they finished after ONE track-day!!!!

what discs and pads are you using guys in UK, pls?

my car is not a daily commuter, I use it only on track-days and week-ends to draw smile on my face, luckily i have an astra for every day use. But I do not want to pour money on my car, I want to spend only on brakes, tires and track-days

appreciate your help and thanks in advance,

Tamas
