Brembo brake pin reassembly

Hello,

I have had an almighty time getting the pins out of the Brembo fronts. I have bought new pins (Pagid assembly kit) from ECP. I am hammering the poo out of it but now I am not sure I can get them back in! See photo. There is still some black collar showing. Any advice?

How badly corroded were the ones that came out? Perhaps the holes needed a bit of a clearout.
In future it's worth upgrading the pins to ones produced by Mr Pink https://shop.turborenault.co.uk/product/replacement-cliomegane-brembo-pins/
They remove the standard spring design which might be the trouble you are experiencing and replace them with an R-Clip design, makes pad changes so much easier.

I had to run a round file through the holes the collar fits in to get the pins fully seated.

The hole on the opposite side is probably damaged (closed over) with you driving the old pins out

Yeah, the holes were pretty corroded. I had to borrow a mini sledge hammer and bought some good punches and they soon went in .

The nominal diameter of the Pin areas that slide into the Caliper is 6mm. I won't tell you how to get there, but just so you know
