really p!ssed off... i could handle a small knick here or there but these are down to the metal

the bloke got snotty too and said if i had a problem to leave the car for 3 days to get painted. what a d!ck

anyway i demanded £40 off the price to get the wheel re painted.

got a price for a full metal back refurb and its about £50-£60 a wheel.

if changed correctly shouldnt be any damage/marks - its not as if they are an awkard size or profile !!!!

should always ask about - no damage to rims when tyre changing and make it clear to them before having work done - if they cant give you a guarantee then walk away !!!!

i cant see how they damaged them so much. i couldnt do that much damage with a hammer and chisel.

i phoned the national call centre and left a complaint. theyre going to get back to me apparently.

i want more money back than the £40 they already have. i want some more towards the cost of the refurb as the place i rang cant match the paint 100% so all 4 will need doing.

you do right !

it went in "undamaged" and came out damaged - so in a worse state - you are entitled to have it rectified - keep at them

Nationwide autocentres mate

total cowboys

only went there as they had a special offer on

the even charged me recycling for a tyre which i took away to keep as spare

Disgusting !!! you'd think there would be some comeback from a big company like that.... must be a customer services at head office id guess that you could get on to

yeah, as said above, you should ask before you let them do the work, to guarantee they won't damage them. people who work in places like this don't give a f**k about doing a 'good' job and certainly don't respect how much some owners look after their cars....

stu.

...took me a long time to find a tyre fitter that I can trust....Pro Tyre make a big thing about being careful with your wheels. I don't know if there is one in Durham, but the site I use in Bristol is fantastic....they are very professional and are actually the cheepest around aswell......big never never is to use companies like National, ATS, Quickfit, Halfords as they just want to push tyres out of the door....Pro Tyre (as far as I have seen) are a performance specialist so are more likely to understand that care of your care is very important also.....

as the wheels are non standard coloured i cant match the paint.

even the lad that painted them doesnt know what he used as it was a while ago

so i got a price for 4 wheel full metal refurb of £240

i have phoned halfords back and told them theyre getting the invoice.

they said they will refund me more money as i am no longer happy with what i initally asked for but wanted to see an invoice written quote first

a local place has sorted me one out and going to send it via post.

i have used them before and theyre spot on. S.E.M in sunderland.

cheers though

Bigger companies are worse...... Anyway tyre fitters are hardly the sharpest tools in the chest....... When I had my yaris turbo, I was advised that it was very dangerous to use plastic wheel nuts.... My reply was short and simple "F*** off" and I never went there again. The nuts were Titanium lol :tongueout:

Hmmm, I think I might drop Halfords an e-mail to ask what they are going to do about it.

For and on behalf of the site as a whole

well as long as they pay for the refurb of all 4, as they have said they will, then it isn't TOO bad. it's just a pain in the ar*e instead now
