Bi Xenon projector conversion?

I know many of you would have done the xenon conversion into the projector headlight, but I want Bi Xenon as I live in the middle of the forest which means total darkness.

Would be great if someone has done this on a Clio so I can take advice from it.

Looking at getting the parts from here. www.theretrofitsource.com/

I need to get hold of a headlight from the FL Clio, not sure whether black surround or projector. I can measure it and decide whether to go for the FX-R or Morimotor Mini projectors.

Anyone got close ups of both headlights?

I was thinking about it myself at some point, interested to see the end result, I have 197 with factory xenons, but I dont think that they are that good really, bixenon on the mini is way better, keep us updated on your project as I might follow !

Finding info on the lights is proving difficult. However I think the projectors used might be Valeo H7 projectors.

I tried to get a 2nd hand headlight but can't find a breaker with one.

Can anyone please measure the size of the projector please? Is it 2.5" or 3"?

I'm getting closer. About the order the FX projectors then I can trial fit everything as soon as the headlight arrives (Renault sent a reflector instead:worried:).

I'm very constrained on projector choice as the shroud is fixed in the headlight.

All the parts are here now. The headlight already looks abit different then when I recieved it. lol

I tried to use the heat method to separate the lens but it isn't budging. The lens is melting before the glue.:worried: The dremel is coming out.

Lens is off using the dremel. Black surround off using the dremel as well. Just need to remove it from the adjuster thing.

Headlight is all apart. However the projector is a bit too wide and I can't trim enough off so that puts it to a temporary halt. I have a Morimoto Mini DS2 coming so that'll fit much nicer.

TBC next week.......... touch wood

Projector fitted and ready to be closed up.

Fired it up earlier and the output I say it looks damm good. lol Should be on the car tomorrow hopefully then after shots will follow very soon.

Looks like a factory fit, will be very interested to see what the results are like. What sort of bulbs do you use in these?

Please get some decent photos up when you're done, might be a summer project for me if all goes well

Factory fit look was what I wanted. It uses DS2 bulbs so just like OEM.

I'm going to take the light outside later and fire it up. Will get some pics but only of dipped beam as I can't activate the solenoid yet.

Oh and I might have polished a bit too hard and rubbed of abit of the chrome edge around the projector. oops At least I know for next time.

Sounds good, what do you need to activate the solenoid? 12V trigger from the loom?

And where are the pics? :tongueout:

I was going to go outside to fire it up but it was too cold for me. lol I can tell you it gives out much more light.

The solenoid is tapped into the main beam 12V feed. The halogen main beam remains and also triggers the solenoid.

Do you think that on dipped beam they'll give out much more light than the projectors on the 'standard' halogen projectors?
