Beanys RB 200 cup

Nothing like leaving a job till the week before a track day. Least you’ve sorted most of it now rather than having to do it on a track day.
You ran the RC6’s previously?
Yeah ran them previously and love them.
A weeks much better notice, last time it was the night before when the rear calliper seized

Have you got your calliper pins yet? If not let me know and I will find a set of used ones and chuck them in the toolbox and bring them to Cadwell with us.

Cont…

After some brief panic the Mr Pink pins finally came today, a job I wanted to finish tonight so once back from work I set out to put this saga to bed.

When I was trying to push the pistons back and head in the wheel arch I was focussed on a drip from the engine bay, trying to fathom what was craic as this drip had turned into a puddle. Turns out brake fluid was slightly overfilled so been pushed out the cap, handy calpol syringe I managed to use to draw out some excess fluid and progress.

Some meat on the pads as they just about squeezed in.

Wheels back on tomorow and a fresh clean for Monday

Cadwell Park 08.04.24

Abit slow on the progress thread but here we go!
First trackday of the year and the first with the Gripper in and wow, transformation. Been certainly a learning curve with getting used to how the car now handles the corners and the ability to give it throttle in the corners and the car just pulls in, this was most noticeable through Mansfield as the car just pulls round where before it suffered with bad understeer and not able to get on the power as quickly.

Can ran faultlessly all day and had so much more to give, the RC6 were on point and often I kept overbraking in certain sections as not used to the brakes coming on so strong,

was good to see so many other clios there and as Iain previously posted think it was the first time the 'Sister' Supreme Cars have been on track together, hopefully not the last.

Had a good stint with @burrellbloke with me as the 'Mouse' in the afternoon, i don't normally like being the lead car being chased.

Onto the next one.

“It’s not what you know, it’s who your know

This has become very apparent as I’ve been luckily enough to be included in a private track day at Cadwell Park in May.
Breakfast and lunch provided too!

Can’t grumble at a free day out.

Apparently there’s an instructor with a Clio Cup Racer

15/05/24 Cadwell with RMA trackdays.

As mentioned prior I was lucky enough to be invited to a private hire or the circuit and I’ve never been on a day so bizarre.

With a start the cars in attendance were serious money, 2 GT3RS, 2 GT3, Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren 765LT and Lotus Emira to name a few. There was no more that 20 cars booked on for the day!

The weather was miserable, was pissing it down till about 11 and anyone who been to
Cadwell in the wet knows how waterlogged it can get.

Car was unchanged since last time out and had the ar1 still on, with not wanting to get wet I proceeded with them during sighting laps and was surprised at how well they actually handled.

Quick toilet trip and was straight out and to my surprise the circuit was dead… literally I had it to myself the ar1 help up really well made sure to be careful around the standing water which was in 2 parts of the circuit but there was certainly a good amount of grip. Absolutely bricked it by gaining some speed down the park straight to find the brakes weren’t gripping and feared it was for the grass.

Sadly one of the grey gt3 aqua-planned at the end of the start finish straight and hit the barriers

Carried on clear lapping then I had a slight moment and caused a red flag just before lunch, whether by idiocy or error the bonnet flew up outside the start / finish straight so had to pull over before coppice. Luckily it didn’t blow back and smash the screen just bent the bonnet, managed to pop it back and get it to shut, its not easy to notice but can tell, need some plastic trims for the windscreen.

Bonnet bodge done and went out lapping after lunch afew more cars on circuit this time as it had dried out abit.

Decided to call it a day around 3 as no pit
Chief with me as it’s quite the chore packing up and loading by yourself.

Kind of depressing this hasn’t been updated since May. I’ve been on the forum lurking however nothing has changed with the car, searching for a bonnet lowkey but other than that nothing :worried:

There is a cheery upside to this depressing post that I’ve booked a track day at Donington with MSV and my faithful companion @Big Ben on the 9th Nov if anyone else fancies it… trying to persuade a work colleague to take his car.
