AmD Tuning in essex

Need to have my car remapped once the decat pipe is fitted (hopefully this week) I currently have it booked in with k-tec but really cba with driving all the way. AmD tuning in essex is much closer and i know of at least one person on here who's had a remap there.. Anyone else had a remap there and recommend them? Not going to rstuing as too far.

Thanks

I've had a reply from a few people over Facebook and searched google.. Sounds like AmD rollers are a little generous. "Ahhh the FAMOUS AMD rollers where even a 1.4s will do 200BHP (at the wheels) [paperbag]"

Chris91 hertfordshire mate, maybe i'll just make the trip to k-tec as i'm hearing too many bad reviews..

What about Pug1Off? when looking on RSTUNING these are under the "dealers" section and apparently use the same maps?

Dawesy0712 had his mapped there and milltek decatted install. Had a lot of high powered cars in there for bits and bobs as well..

Yeah I think they've done a very good job. Had a Miltek system, decat and remap in September. Their rollers are probably generous as mine came out as 212 with a Toyosports mani, Miltek and remap. I'm from South East Kent so just needed a reputable company to do mine as Ktec and RS tuning are too far away for me. I'd recommend them.

Ellis427 they were surprised yours was powerful yet his was even more powerful... Defo not using them.. They just give you numbers to make you happy

If the car drives alright with no flat spot with the new manifold, i wldnt bother with a map. Waste of money on these in my opinion. Unless ur gonna go the whole hog and get cams.

Engine Dynamics are in Essex, they have a RR (unlike most) and specialise in Renaults.

I've been very happy with Andy's knowledge and customer service so am getting them to build my forged engine for me in the next few weeks.

I'm not 100% happy, still finding it a little jumpy at certain revs what it didn't feel like when standard.. I'm waiting for the decat pipe then see how she runs. Thanks for letting me know about engine dynamics. Heard that company crop up a few times now!

Well get it booked and done asap mate and let me know before the 26th!!

I did enquire about them and only heard good things, plus when I was talking head work and exhaust ports the info I got back was spot on and exactly what I'd been reading up on earlier in the week (in the 4-stroke tuning book by Graham Bell), so I'm confident they know what they are doing.

Surprised at what mine produce with what the minimal bits done to it.

I think to be quite honest the only real reason to have a custom ecu remap isn't to gain power really. We all know the engine is not very tuneable, and gains are always small. But to make them run smooth, react better, have a better feel to drive, and to increase the torque throughout the range.

my car, had a horrible flat spot, after exhaust change; now the flat spot is completely gone, initial torque from down low is far better, this making the car much nicer to drive and pulls better through the mid range.. Which at the end of the day is what it is all about.
I went to AmD and was very happy, a very close friend has been involved with them for years, (drives in touring cars and GT's) and recommend them to me, of which I can't fault.

We all have different opinions on different places and no one will every agree!
But as long as your happy with your car and it drives how you want it to, I know personally I'm not bothered if perhaps the rollers I used are slightly. High, or if read slightly low. Unless you go round to a large number of rolling roads and take an average you will never truely know ...

Regardless of where you get it done, hope when it is done it's running sweet!
