Alien Green 200 Cup *** New AG 200 (number 3) from page 85***

I wouldn't recommend either place we stayed at on this "tour" tbh.

I would though recommend the Invergarry hotel where we're stayed on a number of occasions (Master suit is superb as is breakfast). About an hour north of Fort William and a good base to go exploring. Not too far from Skye.

The Royal Hotel in Ullapool is another good shout (Go for a 4-post bed room). Clean, good food and nicely busy.

The Marine B&B is a good one in Thurso. Its small (Only 3 rooms I think) but again its nice, clean and does good breakfast. The wifey that runs it says you get the same price booking direct with her (She only takes cash payments) gets the same price as those booking through the likes of booking.com. She loses a cut to booking.com when booked through there. Y-Not bar and grill is really good for food in Thurso. best Nachos I've ever had.

How much did you take the car down on the B14's Noddie? Looks about right to my eye.
They are definitely on my shopping list

Not sure tbh. They are about the same height as the H&R springs the car came with. I do like not having to worry about speed bumps. Its nicely low but not too much.

So we got back from our north coast road trip yesterday (Earlier than originally planned). The mileage tally in the end was 793 in 3 days. Rained all day non-stop on Friday so not many pics from then. Saturday however was awesome. Blue sky and dry empty roads. The 200 was in her element. The B14s which we had fitted last week are stiff but only on the worst of the single-track roads did it become bumpy. Had forgotten how awesome the Akra is at full pelt also.

A good way to bond with my "new car". I'll stick up some pics (I tried not to take the same ones that I've taken on previous road trips but there will be similar):

Thats us. Rained on the Friday and the Sunday so most of the pics are of Saturday. I thoroughly recommend everyone thats into cars (And amazing scenery) to do the North Coast 500. You will not be disappointed.

Today the car was treated to some new boots (Tyres). Opted for the Michelin Pilot Cup 2s as they now come in our size and they are meant to be spectacular. The tyres that were on the 200 when I bought it (Pirelli P Zero Neros on the front and Toyo T1Rs on the back) got stuck onto Emma's Clio 4 as they were nearly new. I just didn't like them all that much.

Hi N0ddie car looks ace bud. That looks a epic road trip, very nice roads. Did you miss the ag 200 that much you had to get another ? Hope I don't bump into you one time with your car mate, My other half loves that colour - the one and only time I managed to get her up knockhill (for my mate in works wedding ) lol she absolute loved the ag 200.

We missed the original AG 200 not long after getting shot of it. After about 2 years of ST ownership we started seriously looking at what was out there to buy. The good ones didn't stay up for sale for long so missed out on a few but jumped at this one when we seen it advertised.

Love it.

Some stunning scenery there mate.

I really wanted to do that trip this year with the Mrs new car but it's not looking likely now.

Maybe we will get to do it next year when the new Racing Blue beast arrives (much like yourself I can't keep away...though this RB car is very different to my last one)

I'll get in touch and get some pointers off you soon.

I really would not come here's the roads are very busy, and i even saw two cars yesterday, on the single track road, with passing places, and cattle grids.Thats 100% increase over last year!. Bloody tourists!.

So progress on the 200 has been slower than I'd hoped it would be. In the end I didn't manage to get any trackdays done in her this year. Shortly after our road trip I had some Michelin Pilot Cup 2s fitted in prep for some track action but it didn't happen.

Over the last couple of months the money I'd set aside for go faster bits (Brakes & wheels) has been spent keeping her on the road. 1st off, the headlights wouldn't go off. So that was narrowed down to a faulty module under the bonnet (SWR knew the fault straight away when I called to book it in as apparently they've had a few Mk3s in with the same issue.

Secondly it was due its MOT a few days ago. So upon carrying it out the garage called to say it wasn't gonna pass due to front brake imbalance. I said to do what ever was needed to sort it and in the end it turned out one of the pads had stuck in the calliper. A strip and clean later she passed.

However, there was an advisory. There was some play in the steering rack inner joints so she was booked in back at SWR to be serviced and repairs carried out yesterday. So some track rod ends and steering arms later she now has a full bill of health.

Treated her to her first wash since moving house in June (Shameful I know) and she's looking awesome once more.

i'd love to hear what you think of the cup 2's.
hope you have better luck with them than i did.
