Alex's Albi F1 #444

Copying this over from the new members section so I have a thread to start building on.....

Hello all,

recently moved back to the UK after the last 8 years in Canada. Had some pretty fun cars over there including a fully built WRX that made 626hp on the dyno and a pretty fun 300bhp Forester XT.

Sadly though given fuel and insurance prices in the UK I knew that it was time for a change.........

After a brief time with an ep3 type r which was not exactly great I decided I wanted to get back into something a bit special.

Picked up this F1 albi with 49k on the clock, the car drives fantastic, I added the side skirts, exhaust tips and a few other little touches, the R27 badge was from the previous owner but to be honest I cannot decide if I will keep it or not.

Just had the full cambelt service done, brake fluid change, air filter etc. The car is in immaculate condition for its age with the only mark really on the drivers door bump strip which will be replaced soon enough.

Oh and just fitted some new projector headlights....

So things to come....,

New brakes,
New tires,
LED light upgrade all round which is in progress,
Interior accent trim painted already just need a pic!

The dark headlights look really good, they compliment the other dark bits on the car, splitter, skirts etc. What brakes have you got in mind?

Thanks, to be honest I have always used Stoptech brakes. Amazing performance and the price wasn't the most expensive either. So at this point I'm open to options.

Looks really nice mate.

Think anthracite door handles, bullets and badges would go well.

Actually I was looking into doing just those things. The drivers door handle lock button only works 20% of the time anyway plus I was thinking going black to tone them down as much as possible. Are they hard to remove? I'm an agricultural tech myself so pretty handy when if comes to vehicles.

nice looking albi..would love to have some fun time behind the WRX wheel..looks very wild

It was the fastest vehicle I have ever been in, the pull was incredible. It took years of hard work, saving and planning but I would do it all over again. Il have to post the build sheet at some point!

any videos of it in action??i bet the hard work paid off when u got in and drove it :d

Yeah I am in 2 minds about it. It may come off at some point.

Yeah I have a few videos of it, what's the best way to host a video on this site?

hi..i use youtube or photobucket but there are some other options im sure..how did u manage to get 620bhp out of it??must have cost u a small fortune..

Well crappy iphone picture but got the interior trims painted black and did the start button in red as well. I'm also working on the door handles and bullets, a slightly different approach to most so will see how it turns out tomorrow.

Well bit more progress, got the door handles ready to be removed for painting. Removed and painted the bullets trim black as well as changed the R27 badge slightly.

Really nice example of a albi f1 bud. Is it aftermarket headlights you put on ? Where did you get them bud and how much they were if you dont mind me asking. Thanks

I bought them off of ebay, they are copies made by DEPO. Installation wasn't bad and the fit was pretty spot on. The quality seems excellent and considering they were £130 for the pair I'm extremely pleased.
