air noise from brake pedal

I have never had this on any other car I have owned so not sure if it is normal. When you pump the brake pedal when not moving there is air released from it. Any car I have had just gets to a point where you can't press the pedal any further. The brembos on my scoob didn't release air like this. Is this normal?

that will be the servo you can hear letting air in to provide brake "boost"

its a 2 chambers - one side has a vacuum applied (form the engine) the other as you press lets atmopheric pressure in this difference provides a boost to the force you apply to the brakes

some cars servos are noisier than others and some dont use servos as they use fully powered brakes

to test it - without the engine running press the pedal several times until the brake pedal goes hard - keep the pedal pressed and start the engine - you should then feel the pedal "sink down" slightly - this shows the servo doing its job :thumbup1:
