1p off a litre

The government needs tax and it's up to the current government to apportion it as how they deam fair.

Unfortunately the last government pissed loads away increasing the size of the state. Therefore Mr Osbourne does not have much to play with.

Putting the budget into perspective. Things that get my attention is the £50bn we have to pay in interest every year (thankyou Gordon) and the £200bn on benefits. Hopefully raising the taxable amount by £1000 this year, will help people get back into jobs, to bring this down.

One figure I can't find at the moment is the total debt of the UK. Is this the £122bn? Or is the £122bn just for this year?

That's p/a I think. Everyone talks about the deficit, but the deficit is the annual figure. You really, really don't want to know the total debt figure. Last time I saw it I had to be resuscitated!

Petrol stations are fooking about.

Day after the budget Sainsburys super went down 2p to 130.9 but I went back today to fill up and it's back to 132.9.
