I've noticed that my fan never kicks in when the temp gets hot on my Clio 200 cup I've checked all the fuses and all seem to be ok anyone got any ideas?

I dropped my Clio 200 off at Renault tonight to have it looked and mentioned about needing a cambelt change so they gave me a quote of just over £1000 just wondering how reasonable this is and what's the best price people have got?
