Clio 200 FF with Cup Pack

Looks great! Some really nice choice mods there. Not sure I'm too keen on the Renault Sport decals on the door sills though...

    Milage thread

2008 Clio / 8 years old / 66,500 Miles Upkeep; - Powerflex Engine Mounts (did these as soon as picked the car up, ~54K miles) - New Discs and Pads (MTEC / Brembo) - New Clutch and Slave going in (today! due to release bearing squeal that developed a couple of weeks ago) - Gearbox Oil changed...

    197: Insurance dilemma

Just to throw another name into to ring, I used AVIVA. They dont show up on comparison sites, but they beat the best Gocompare insurance (~£600) quote by £200 bringing the AVIVA quote in at £401.... also grabbed £60 cashback using QuidCo so that was just the icing on the cake.

    Possible gearbox problem?

My understanding was that when pressure is applied via the pedal, pressure is put on the clutch release bearing which stops it squealing. When it's spinning freely with no pressure via the pedal, the level of friction, or lack of friction causes the noise. ^^ That could be completely incorrect...

    Clio 197 Exhaust Noises

Ah that makes more sense, guessing it's something like 5-6 hours labour so "standard" £50 per hour odd. I'm in for a similar figure for clutch replacement (labour only) which is a similarly lengthy job :(

    Clio 197 Exhaust Noises

Are you sure that price is correct? I thought their manifold on its own was circa £500?? Let alone the labour/fitting cost...

    Face Lift clio rs 2016

Agree with all of this ^^ Looks "ok" on the whole, but they could've added a little more flare. At least the Liquid Yellow still stands out pretty well

    Panel Filter + Hot Smell

Quite a long time now, maybe just over a year / 10K + miles It rarely happens and only happens once (as in doesn't smell of hot/burning every time I boot the revs up), I always assumed it was just because the car hadn't been given a good boot in a while and it was clearing the pipes. Most the...

    Possible gearbox problem?

I seem to have the same thing in mine. Squealing bearing type noise with the clutch out, soon as press clutch it goes. Been diagnosed as the clutch release bearing/slave cylinder. Having new clutch and slave fitted Monday next week. I added a video to my thread here -...

    Panel Filter + Hot Smell

I get the same thing occasionally in mine after getting up in the revs. Never attributed it to the panel filter although mine is also a PiperCross....

140nm I believe - translates to 103 ft/lb I also tend to do the locking nuts a tad looser, usually ~120nm

Seat belt clean guide here - http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?18574-How-to-clean-seat-belt&highlight=clean+seatbelts I would think some sort of Chrome polish for the exhaust tips but I don't have any first hand experience of any that I could recommend :)

    Goodbye Squee (197) hello...

I always wonder if I should have gone that route too, well Meg 250 instead of 197, but they were a good £4-5K more expensive at the time :( Can't imagine it would've been any cheaper to maintain though, although the cost maybe more justifiable for the additional power etc.
