    POTM February 2019

That's a great route! Did it in the '90s in an MG Metro. Was supposed to be a motorcycle tour but my pal's bike broke down on the way to Holyhead so we went back for the car & took a later ferry.

    Wheel Spacers

I'm the opposite! When I ran spacers I felt it was safer to use the bolt to hub type. I didn't like idea of the strain put on longer bolts. The stress is split between 10 bolts with the second type, which I felt was safer. I used Loctite to fix the spacers to the hub. After a day or two I...

    Big Bens non Clio

Aye that'll be right Ben! :smirk: I think you'll always be tweaking here & there. This is becoming a great car. I like the way you're making steady progress rather than going for all out power straight away. Keep up the good work.

Silverstone GP circuit with Open Track 17/2/19

Thanks Eddie. Yes I hope we meet up again at a track day sometime. I want to see that Cup S of yours too!

Silverstone GP circuit with Open Track 17/2/19

Thanks Shuv. The car was superb, the driver slightly less so! There were a couple of bends that I just couldn't seem to get right, but I had a great day. I can also genuinely say that I have overtaken a Ferarri in my Clio! Okay, it was a 45 year old Ferarri, but a Ferarri none the less.:thumb:

When the wife borrows the car

I got 32mpg on the drive from Inverness to Silverstone last weekend thanks to average speed cameras for the first 150ish miles & lots of 50mph roadworks on the M6. I get around 30mpg running around locally, but it's not proper stop start traffic like you get in S.E. England where I lived until...

Silverstone GP circuit with Open Track 17/2/19

No plans as yet Peter. Probably not this year, but I will be back sometime I hope. Hoping Brexit doesn't make it too complicated or expensive.

Silverstone GP circuit with Open Track 17/2/19

As James said I'm using R888r. Yes I was impressed with them. Temperature was 10-12 Celsius & they warmed up quickly and gripped really well.

Silverstone GP circuit with Open Track 17/2/19

It's good but I prefer Spa as Silverstone is flat. Sometimes I found it hard to tell which way the track was going. There was one bend I just couldn't get the hang of. Kept trying different lines but never seemed to suss it. I'd have taken advantage of the free tuition included by Open Track but...

Silverstone GP circuit with Open Track 17/2/19

Had a great day here with good weather. I've never been to a track day like it, with lots of professional race teams complete with double decker articulated race transporters. There was an amazing mix of cars from humble road going cars to outright racers. Also dozens of racing C1s practicing...

    Big Bens non Clio

Track day with Open Track. I saw a blue Morgan & a white one. Didn't see an MGB. Would've liked that as I owned a couple of MGB GTs. I've never done a track day like it. Loads of professional teams with articulated car transporters. Everything from classic & modern Ferraris, likewise classic &...

    Big Bens non Clio

Ben, what are these track tyres? I recognise the tread pattern but can't for the life of me remember what they are. Btw I'm massively impressed with the Toyo R888Rs I bought having tried them at Silverstone today. They're my 1st semi slicks so I'm interested to hear your thoughts on whatever...

    Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Liking the dials mate! I was always glad my 200 got a white tacho face from the factory. Carbon effect is lovely. Is the change of red line due to your remap from engine dynamics?

Actually bought myself a 200 finally-

Not for me, but you did it for you so that's fine. My own car is a bit Marmite. It'd be a boring place if everyone did the same thing.

    Whiteline Springs?

B14 are a good call, but I'm happy with my Cooksports. When I had them fitted at Cooksport's premises in Bristol the guys were telling me that Josh (Cook) develops & tests them himself. Hope the Bilsteins suit you.
