Definitely 100% not a placebo, I used regular unleaded the other week and my car ran like an old dog, I could feel the Powerflex engine mounts rattling through my teeth :tearsofjoy:

Gearboxes are very temperamental from cold... whacking it between 3rd and 4th a few times usually helps with mine first thing in a morning when it's cold :)

I use Tesco 99 stuff and the difference is amazing, engine runs and revs so much more smoothly. I had to put in a bit of regular unleaded the other week because I was too far away from a Tesco petrol station and was running on fumes. Once I'd fuelled up, because of my engine mounts the dash...

Loving them!!! Even perfected getting in and out of them quickly... still look (and feel) like a complete retard though :excited:

Please for the love of god update me if you manage to figure out how to fix this, my gear stick has so much play in it like 2cm forwards and 1cm left and right and it only happened after one of my gear selector things popped off. Ever since I popped it back on it's been loose, so I'm thinking...

I've got some weird interior cloth wipes that have kinda a rough texture and foam a little bit when you wipe with them. Here they are, Simoniz upholstery wipes. No idea if they're actually any good or not because I bought them for my last car and they were pretty cheap but the foaming action...

Not much been happening recently with the car as been really busy and sick a few days, but managed to give the interior a much needed clean! Couldn't be bothered cleaning the exterior properly as I've been so drained of energy, so I popped down to the local garage and did a 'touchless'...

Doing a few gradual stops not applying the brakes too harshly should get rid of it all, just time your take and start off slow just in case the rust stop the brakes from working as effectively as they should :smile:

Surface rust on the actual disc that the pad comes into contact with? Or rust around the hub? The rust around the disc itself where the pad makes contact is normal and usually appears when it rains and will disappear after you drive and brake a few times. If you mean the rust around the hub...

When I had a lot of work due on my Clio I had two options, either Birchdown or Reno-Tech, ended up choosing Reno-Tech in the end as they were cheaper. Thanks for this post though as it's good to know Birchdown seem decent if I ever need any other work doing :good:

I admire your bravery fitting all four mounts at once, I've heard about the upper engine mount insert being the worst of the four for vibrations. I've got all but the upper insert fitted and it does vibrate a lot on idle and start of acceleration, but mines got the cup chassis so I don't know...

Good luck viewing all those mate! Hope you like one of them enough to purchase. If you've never seen liquid yellow in person you're in for a treat :D
