So still stumped on this. How does the rear hangar normally get attached? I literally just put a bolt through it. Metal on metal contact so wondering if it's meant to have some kind of damping material and that's what is causing the noise?

Fairly sure it isnt. Definitely never sounded like this before and it's very defined. I don't think its 'meant' to sound like this... Cant get a good video of it to show what it sounds like really

So done some work on the car the past two days. My best guess is the large bang was a bolt snapping which held the middle exhaust hanger on. New bolt through the hanger and rattle has stopped, haven't heard the clunk since. Fingers crossed that was it...

Will try that but 90% sure the rattle is from a loose heat shield in the diffuser. But the source of the clunk in the video is still a mystery...

Easy way to test if that's the issue? Again, doesn't really come across in the video but the noise was seriously loud. I could feel the 'impact' of it in my chest... Makes me think it's something under load suddenly slipping off. Springs are the obvious thing but they look fine :think:

So had a look at rear springs, couldn't see any damage and they looks like they are in the right place. Definitely something rattling at the rear of the car when I go over big bumps. Sounds like loose exhaust/heatshield. Saying that, the clunks in the video were so loud I'm not sure how a...

So as I fix one thing, two more things break on this car... Yesterday started getting random 'clunks' from the rear of the car somewhere. Happened 3 times so far. Not sure what triggers it. Seems to happen when I'm putting any kind of load through acceleration on the car. Video below shows...

Will check handbrake/piston windback/pad spings on saturday when I have time to. Fitted new pads with new discs. Brembo pads came with chamfered edges and fitted to pagid discs. Just given the little clips that go ontop of the pads a clean and put a good helping of copper grease on the edges...

Ok so the noise seems to have appeared again. Looking for more ideas on what to check...

When I did mine got under the car, flicked a chain tool over the top and had someone with a screw driver making sure the top bit didnt fall off. Just had to give it the absolute beans to budge it. Every time I've done it, it's caved the filter in it took so much force.

That's pretty disgusting for people who call themselves professionals...

Just replaced the aux belt. Haven't touched the tensioner or pulleys. Looked even worse when I got it out, I could see the blue structural chords that are encased in the 'base plate'

Yeh that's a normal 197 RS badge. The weird thing with the other black clio was the font was different and it was bigger/in the wrong place. Looks like someone just made up a RS badge with letters bought from halfords...

So sorted the above issue with a new AUX belt. Also just did another go over on my new pads with some more copper grease. Also replaced the cabin filter which looks/smells like it's the original factory one :mask: Going to be bleeding the brakes/clutch with new fluid next week (Pagid DOT4...
