    Cheeky Test Drive

Yeah I have always been a quiet fan of the GP1's too. And they do seem to hold their value quite well for their age. I always find test drives frustrating because it's difficult to get a proper feel for a car on a 15-20 min drive with a white-faced sales rep gripping the door handles for dear...

Cheers mate, much appreciated :) With regards to the wood under the pedal.. no idea what it's all about but read it in a couple of places so will probably do it just incase.

    Cheeky Test Drive

http://www.rybrook.co.uk/mini/used-cars/8160/mini-john-cooper-works/ Those pictures don't do it justice - it's such a gorgeous car in the metal  Pretty quick too! Steering felt solid and precise but the car kept jumping everywhere and tugging at the steering along the country lanes we...

    Brake & Clutch Bleeding Questions

Hello all! I’ve just bought myself a Visibleed kit with one way valve (link) & some Motul RBF 600 fluid so will be bleeding my system soon (also got myself some gearbox oil but that’s an easier job). Now, I know there are a few threads on brake bleeding and a couple on clutch but nothing is in...

I've seen this too, in the Powertrain car park. Saw it broken down on the slip road out of Whitley a few days ago :(

    Wheel Alignment with EPAS

Jade Devolpments isn't thaaat far from me.. but too far to go just for wheel alignment I think. Ah so there is specific data for each type of car? Don't suppose anyone knows what it is meant to be for a FF 200 + cup chassis?

    Wheel Alignment with EPAS

Cheers Paddy. I also like the idea of referring to my cup pack as an extreme pack ha! I don't know much (anything) about wheel alignment but is there some sort of setup guide for each type of car (e.g. for toe in/toe out, camber etc) or is every car set up the same (wheels parallel to each...

    Wheel Alignment with EPAS

Hi guys, A couple of months ago I had my tyres changed and wanted a full wheel alignment done at the same time.. but I was told by my local wheels & tyres garage that they couldn't do the wheel alignment because the car had electric power steering which made it too difficult. I mentioned this...

    200: Well.. I almost died.

The point I was trying to make was that, similarly to fitting different compounds of tyre, different widths of tyre behave differently over the same conditions too - and some manufactures fit different widths of tyre to the front and rear axles, meaning the front and rear axles will behave...

    200: Well.. I almost died.

The front and rear tyres are put under different loads though, so IMO don't necessarily have to be the same. For example a lot of cars have different width tyres front to rear, which would change the behaviour of the front & rear axles over the same conditions, but the car is dynamically set up...

    200: Well.. I almost died.

I've never had my rears lock up like that.. seems very strange. I'm not convinced on the whole 'front & rear tyres should have been the same' argument either. Maybe it was just poor/worn tyres on the rear that caused it (if so, having the same on the front would've just made it worse!). I...

Clio RS F1 Facelift of Not

Seems a bit dodgy. Can you not phone up Renault to find out what the car is, by giving them the VIN? That's probably your best bet. Or try a numberplate search online to see what it lists the car as? Either way though I would be suspicious that the owner is not being completely truthful..
