2006 Deep Black Track Shed BudgetBoltOnBuild

Only things to do to the car now is a new set of front pads. Between the 3 of us we finished them off! On to the data and laptimes... I was struggling all day to get into a good rhythm and had lost a lot of confidence on track, not sure why but I was really struggling to commit to the first...

2006 Deep Black Track Shed BudgetBoltOnBuild

Onto a trackday that I'd been bullied into booking. Bank holiday Monday with Opentrack at Snetterton. As per usual the car ran well all day long, got abused by myself and 2 others and using the Racebox, we were all within 2 seconds of each other which was impressive. No I haven't bought a...

    Glacier White 200 Cup

Funnily enough I fitted mine today. It's only the rears that you can see the stud shoulder, on the fronts the shoulders should disappear through the disc and snug up against the hub.

    Big Bens non Clio

One of us, one of us! Sad to see the car go Ben as I said to you but life comes first. You always know you can turn up to a trackday with a helmet and come for a blast, you'll always be welcome even if you just come and get some videos from the pit wall.

I got this photo followed by "Gunna set this on fire". Standard Renault shenanigans.

Regarding the image stabilisation on the GoPro, I run a pair of old Sessions and a Hero+LCD, none of which have IS and they're fine, you ideally need a good mount to keep it pinned to the cage properly. I bought a cheapish aluminium clamp mount off Amazon and it's spot on for trackdays.

    Extended/long boot mat options

Nah no seat delete at the time. I took the isofix bar out but that was it. Now it's just sound deadening in there that I added to keep the boot floor from rattling.

    Beanys RB 200 cup

That last session we had was great fun. Highlights how capable your car is and how you can actually drive if you're given a little encouragement. Also shows you need a diff...

    GW 200 CUP (clubsport->racecar->v2)

I saw the walkaround vids on Insta the other day, so glad to see you getting stuck in! Quite enjoyed the waffling, may be worth documenting the rebuild on Youtube maybe? I wouldn't use those seat mounts for trackdays, let alone racing, they look... Less than ideal. They might be strong enough...

    Bluetooth speaker suggestions

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081RQP7B9/?tag=clio197-21 I have the previous model of this. They can be linked together if you have more than 1, sound is decent too for the price.

So happy to see you're back on it! Looks a brilliant base for a race car, looking forward to the rebuild and to see it racing this season!

    Glacier White 200 Cup

I've never found I need any more steering lock on track than just over a half turn. I keep my hands at 3 and 9 as much as I possibly can and cross over until my arms touch. All of the pro drivers I've had in the car for tuition have all said my hand position is spot on. It's difficult to get...

    Rear pads and discs

I've had Pagid discs on the rear of mine for about 5 years now and have no complaints, got a set of PBS ProTrack pads in there at the minute and again, no complaints.

Albeit a stripped rear, I can get 8 wheels in mine. 4x 7.5s and 4x 8s... It's tight but it'll go. Also. Wizards all the way if you can get some.
