I wouldn’t personally mount the belts to anything which has the ability to move. I know that doesn’t help you all that much though.

Yeah, it does mean you’re reliant on the rails.. though if they failed then you're still potentially moving around with static mounted harnesses.

Maybe i could use the floor rail bolt and bend it 90 degrees upright. or I'm just binning these rails / subframes and going direct to floor again.

Yet to see a comprehensive sliding rail system, sigh!

also just discovered my drivers side rear wheel wasnt torqued up. And adding spacers on one side it definitely looks higher than i’d expect on the rear.

And that’s the problem, I’ve never actually seen any decent aftermarket rails.
I have the SW bases in the Megane and they’re really nice. They do offer rails, but I’ve no idea on the quality of them.

On their design, the base has a number of holes in for seatbelts and eyebolts. Again that still doesn’t help you a great deal, as the belts would still be ‘fixed’

Hah fixed would be fine at this point, i dont think the oem rail bolt will work. Might try the bolt in mount on that bolt.

tbh the oem buckle is fixed to the seat on the tunnel side, so maybe thats fine.

I think they’re a new product for sure.Check the Megane ones out: https://www.swmotorsports.uk/produc...-low-seat-base-mount-subframe-and-slider-kit/

I’m pretty certain they’ll fit the Clio too, as OEM seats are interchangeable.
I ended up with these as direct to floor ones made me seat land nowhere near Centre. That may be because my seat is rather large though.

Yeah that looks decent. Deffo would have just purchased these as even has the 6point under seat harness bolts. Oh well, i’ll see what i can do with what i have else could consider that. I still like the slider idea so others can drive it.

Is there a 'method' of determining best ride height with the gaz golds? i think my rear looks a little high (perhaps 20mm), and front could drop perhaps another 10mm. on the basis of running with a bit more stiffness (full soft atm, for transit/road) than i have now. though rear with 20mm spacers is going to be verrrry tight against the arch.

When I got mine back after having them fitted it was slammed on rear and did rub eventually at Cadwell with et50 wheels.

Whilst I don’t think there is a true correct ride height, I think most try to be close ish tk the cup racer set up. Again it’s a guide

handy - thanks! any idea where they're measuring the body height?

The back should sit higher than the front so there is some rake.

I have measured mine with a tape measure from the floor to the arch.

But bear in mind that might no be 100% accurate.

nice, thanks!

I've got a decent amount of front camber so that seems fine (plenty of clearance even with spacers), but the rear less so - so chucking 20mm spacers on and i'm in the grey zone on the rear as to whether that will work under compression.

will have to do some aggressive driving over local speedbumps to find out the limit!

I have 20mm spacers on the back and do not get any rubbing on normal road driving with the Speedlines (with 20mm spacers are the equivalent of ET48). My Gaz Golds are set to full soft for normal driving.

Even with Oz Ultraleggera track wheels with an offset of ET40 (no spacers) the rear wheels are fine.

If the back rubs you are probably too low.

If it is set up with Cup Racer like settings - but rake isn’t mandatory. I thought rake was supposed to help with a front wheel drive set up and help the rear end move about.

I set mine up per the spec Beany posted, which I eventually came to realise was way too low.
You have to bare in mind that the cup cars have much more damper travel due to the relocated top mount arrangement.

For us with road cars, the actual damper travel really is small, and that’s why you’ll of seen @LiamP recessing his swivel hubs to get the shock further into the hub.

So ultimately there is no true answer. I would set it at a height which you think looks sensible, then look into getting the corner weights and alignment set from there.

As for your worry about rubbing on the back. You will be fine on a 20mm spacer with 215/45 tyres. It’s only if you go up to 225/45 where you’ll get rubbing.

i'll stick with the 215 then! the rear is mighty close but perhaps fine. not going to lower it until after next trackday as dont want to mess with the alignment, and probably get the right wheels on it first.
