Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Rather spontaneously a few weeks back I put up a question on the RS197/200 Facebook page regarding a Supersprint exhaust which I was thinking of purchasing. My heart was always set on buying another Akra but the price increase really put me off, hence my wanted post on this forum.

I was contacted by Paul at RS Tuning, on the back of my Facebook post, who had a deal for me. I’m not a man to pass on a deal especially when it’s soemthig I want so I broke his arm for it and I’m travelling over to Leeds this coming Tuesday to have it fitted and the car mapped whilst I’m there.

I really can’t wait. The exhaust was high up my priority list for the car but there was always something else creeping up in the for sale section which ate away at funds.

I know many will disagree but I really don’t see any other alternative which comes close to the Akra. Yes it is twice the price of other systems but they really are worth the money.

As I always seem to say, update wise I can’t seem much more happening with the car over the coming months after the exhaust is fitted and car is mapped. Apart from the set back of the car being damaged I’ve just been enjoying driving it and keeping it clean and intend to keep doing so!

So glad to see the repair on the car Eddie. I remember being sickened by your FB post when it happened. I'm not familiar with Supersprint exhausts but from what you say I am really looking forward to seeing & hearing your car whenever that may be. Your Megane was lovely but I've yet to see the Clio. Imho Paul at RS Tuning is hard to beat so I have every confidence that the results will be spot on. I'd have popped down to see you whilst you are over but I'm heading for Spa.

Tell me about it mate. Hitting a car and driving off is bad enough without it being a neighbour that done the damage.

Cheers John! I was very close to ordering the SS system but was happy to hear from Paul and his proposition lol. He is excellent at what he does, obviously the debate rages on as to who is “the best” but he done a fantastic job on my previous Clio and Megane so I couldn’t look last him. Enjoy Spa!

Echo all the comments regarding the hit and run. As little as it may be, a plus that you managed to sort it without involving insurance companies!

Itching to get out to Spa next week, I'm also toying with the October trip you're going on, possibly a final play with mine as a Clio! If that Akra is half as good as you say it is, it'll be amazing. Bet you can't wait to get it on Eddie.

Have fun Tuesday!

Yeah I really didn’t want the car being categorised damaged etc and when insurance becomes involved things inevitably take a long time to sort out!

I bet you are it is an amazing place, enjoy!

good choice on the supersprint. just the 'racing' back box or center pipe as well?

Sorry to disappoint Peter but I actually went for neither and bought the Akra. Having had one before and knowing what I was getting the SS was too expensive of a risk in case it wasn’t for me.

Did this happen recently? I remember seeing a white one with the wheel ripped off on Facebook. It happened around the same time my car was damaged.

I know it’s crazy! If I was in any other room in the house I wouldn’t have caught a glimpse of the car who hit mine so I’m lucky!

Planning on moving house in the next year or so and a driveway and garage are a must lol.

Pretty sure it was a friend of yours who had the SS on their car and was posting g videos etc for me on the Facebook group? I was very close to hitting the button and buying from Kam Racing until I heard from Paul!

Disgusting, I remember seeing the post as if I remember right it happened the same night or night after mine was hit. The damage done to that car was shocking! Don’t know how anyone ca. Have the conscience to drive off after doing that kind of damage.

yeah, was joris. he's very happy how it sounds and he should be, it does sound great.

I haven’t been on here as much, I’ve been keeping a low profile having left the Facebook groups also.

I found myself getting carried away at times and the groups sometimes a bit of a ‘willy waving’ competition for some people. I’ve found since I cleansed my Facebook newsfeed from that, that I’ve enjoyed my car a lot more. Strange one but hopefully some can understand where I’m coming from lol. I still enjoy coming on here and browsing but just life gets in the way, along with work and sideline ventures etc etc!

Enough ramblings! I got my car fixed after it’s incident and have just continued to enjoy it! I also headed over to RS Tuning at the beginning of April as per my last post. This is now my third visit to Paul with my third different car (R27, 265 Cup and now 200). Obviously the map on the 265 was brilliant, such a lift in power and torque, but the map on the 20 is excellent also. The car is just smoother to drive, no flat spots, no jerking, better power delivery, it really drives brilliantly now! I also had the Akra fitted, having had one on my R27 I found the Akra near on impossible to look past. The quality is just so much better than anything else out there in my eyes and I was so happy to get rid of the Ktec system I had put on the R27 before I seen sense and went for the Akra.

I took a little tour on my way back from RS Tuning just to enjoy the car and also scenery that north Wales had to offer. The Evo Triangle is well worth a visit if you’re anywhere near it, and some of the road between the Evo Triangle and Holyhead port are brilliant also!

Glad you’re enjoying the car Eddie. Lovely example

Thank you sir! Just enjoying ownership .

Think I’ll be saving pennies over the summer for a suspension refresh! Needing some new hub bearings and will probably refresh the droplinks, track rod ends while I’m at it.

Good to see you back Eddie. I've yet to try the Evo triangle, but agree that some of the roads to the ferry are good fun.
Yeah, I'm not in so many of the other groups now. This place has a much better vibe & class of posts anyway - my true Clio home.
