200 Tow strap bolt

I would needDthe one that doesn't damage my front bumper in case of a towing emergency...
Thanks

I still think you need to add an M12 nut welded to the tow strap end (or machined flats if you have the equipment to do it) to aid install and removal of the M20 bolt on its own

Can do either. Nut welded on far easier and hence cheaper.

I’ll price for a stainless bolt and a nut welded on: and then the same in zinc plated.

Stainless will get TIG’d on and will obviously never rust. ZP will need painting by ‘you’ if you want to avoid the dreaded rust.

Unless anyone has a better idea ?

Just done a quick costing in stainless steel and for the whole job: M20 Bolt supplied and cut, centred, drilled and tapped to M12 with a stainless M12 bolt and washer supplied for the strap end: and an M12 nut welded on to that end to aid securing / undoing....would be £12.50 based on 5 being needed.

Tracked postage is £3.

How’s that grab everyone ?

i've got this info from @Cliosport-carl ..
many thanks

the tow hook the thread is m20x2.50 and is 30mm long..

***EDITED BY SHUV:

Thanks Pav. We’ve got this covered. Bolt will come with 60mm threaded area on the car chassis end. This should cause no issues being slightly more than is needed. Thread rate is confirmed at 2.5mm pitch.

And we’re in business.....

@Pav @tel4tel @tcw @J90RDN @Benno996 @Johnny 99

Just need confirmation from @tcw and @J90RDN that they are ok with this.

***And can you put the final drawing you sent me up please Tel - so everyone can see exactly what they are getting and can double-check they are happy with what they will be receiving !!

———————————————-

Payment would be preferred by PayPal to: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and needs to:

1./ Be via gift, friends or family or have fees paid your end so I receive exactly £15.50 and not a penny less at this ‘forum price’

**Bank transfer ok. PM me if you need account details.

2./ MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS ADDED IN THE NOTES AS IT WONT AUTOMATICALLY SHOW PAYING BY GIFT ETC - AND I DO NOT WANT THEM THEN SENT SEPERATELY TO ME VIA PM: THUS SPLITTING DETAILS UP MAKING THINGS COMPLICATED FOR ME COLLATING THINGS TOGETHER IN ORDER TO POST.

***Anyone can now pay anytime: and if this doesn’t happen or the price goes up a couple of quid etc due to the price based on 5 and someone no longer wanting - I will simply and quickly refund if you no longer require.

Any questions, queries or thoughts - just shout here and tag me in.

Cheers chaps.

Shuv,(@sevenfourate) all the engineering details are beyond me bud! If we're talking a bolt that would sit behind the removable cover that I can attach a tow strap to then I'm definitely up for one. Is this what we're talking about?

Yes Jon ! Pretty sure that’s whats been planned and thought out - although I’ve had nothing to do with measuring or design.

***Can the ‘pin’ sit recessed and in place with the cover on; AND the then the cover be removed, strap bolted onto the pin - without the strap interfering with the car in any way ?

Can you confirm @tel4tel ?

Or anyone else who uses similar ?
