Yea they seem to be a pretty common problem on the 197

apparently it says "steering not locked" because it gets confused thinking that the engine is started when its not.where best to get a starter motor?had a price from twingogeeko,where else should i try

Ye, only a suggestion as a cheap solution. I think you are right tbh, starter motor is a sort of wear thing isn't it.

Think you'll struggle to beat that, especially for a genuine part.

Only other thing I can suggest is getting your broken one refurbed but might mean taking it off the road for a bit longer
