Had it done by Renault in Braintree Essex got it back now it vibrates insure the car like I have solid engine mounts and is quite noisy when just driving along above 3rpm you can really feel it on gas pedal ! Also in lower gear if u accelerate u hear the engine knocking and when u let off it knocks what the hell has happened ? Thanks guys

All my car did before was a lil drowning noise 50 mph onwards which I asked then to look at and they said they couldn't hear it lol and wheel bearings are ok lol but now the whole car is noisy, maybe I should try a Renault sport specialist .

As has been said, take it back. Bloody jokers some Renault dealers are.

definitely mate, there's not many out there that know how to time these engines correctly,i'd get it looked at before any damage is caused,i've heard of something called a knock sensor and if the names anything to go by then it could be this as i'm sure its linked to the timing, someone will be along soon to clear things up,if not foxspeed is a knowledgeable guy so you could PM him

does your car feel down on power by any chance?

Take it back to Renault.

If it didn't do it before the belt was changed then its very unlikely to be a coincidence.

Sounds like they haven't done the timing propley could be a tooth out

Get Renault to fix it. Why should it cost you more

take it back as said - could be something simple like an engine mount out of line but could also be a timing issue - dont use it until its been looked at as it could be something serious!!!

how many times is this going to happen, the annoying thing is,unless the mechanic is a total retard then he must have known something wasn't quite right, poor poor workmanship and customer service...

unless its a warrenty claim my car wouldn't be going anywhere near any renault garage

Looks like I'm going to take it back Monday then but power seems ok I don't know it just feels like its got stronger engine mounts on it even if I set there and hold the revs near 3k it's just a different engine noise than before, we all know how are cars feel and it defo don't feel right ! If I rev it like I said before and just sit there when its near 3k it vibrates most and as for the knocking when I put on the gas and off that normally would be engine mount but ay what do I know! Can't I take it to a Renault specialist they have a sport specialist branch in Romford if I took it there and they found something wrong could I get the money off Braintree Renault I don't fancy them cowboys touching it again !

if there is an issue with it and someone else touches it the dealers will just tell you to do one...

the metal arm that comes out in the left hand side of the engine bay i think it comes from where the suspension is and it bolts on side of engine, is that supposed to wiggle about if you move it ?

No not really!!!

That's a stabiliser for the engine. They do knock slightly when the car is cold, first thing in the morning for example. But you shouldn't be able to wiggle it about by any stretch of the imagination... Sounds like its not been tightened back up properly, hopefully that'll be what the noise is and it won't be anything more sinister.

argg thanks for reply i so hope it is that its lose on the engine my 4 year old daughter would be able to wiggle it, oh yea and also the plastic pipe that comes off the airfilter and goes down near the front, it wernt even cliped in properly i just pushed it and it clipped in lol i swear im never going renault again !!!!!!!

thanks buddy

Not a problem!

I'd still suggest popping in to a specialist and have them check the timing is correct. If they can't do a few bolts up properly then who's to say what they've done with the belts etc..

just checked and the bolt is tight on the arm i was saying about so not sure how its moving it also moves alot left to right aswell ? how do they check the timing will they have to take it apart :worried: ?

there is another post on here about the arm too and people saying it can also be to do with gearbox mount does this explain why my gearstick feels like it moves if i drive and keep my hand on it and let off the throttle ?i might just take it back where it got done and see if they notice if not then they are ****t !!

thats normal - it has to move with the engine or it would pull it out of gear as the torque of the engine makes it rock back and forth on the mounts..

my mate just had a look he said there is loads of movement in the stabiliser batr also where they done cambelt the mount has been set further back you can see where the old bolts where sitting so if i losen them and pull the mount forward maybe this will help the vibration maybe ?
