Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

@sevenfourate Shuv, how easy/hard was it to remove the spoiler? I have the same one but I've always fancied removing it, depending on what goodness lurks beneath...

About 3 minutes work @Sean197.

I did have pics but not on me now !

Either end of the spoiler and underneath - is a silver cap headed (Allen key) bolt in plain view. And just above that a black self tapping screw.

So: 2 bolts, 2 screws - job done.

I put the boot up and laid a large towel on the back of the roof just incase....

Car looks amazing, great job.
That colour is kind of similar with BMW E46 M3 Laguna seca blue?

LSB is very much duller. It's a similar shade but Renault Racing Blue is full on in your face where as BMW LSB is much more restrained. So, it's similar but with the saturation turned up to 100!

LSB is a lovely colour though!

Okay, like BMW Imola red 2 versus renault ultra red. Renault is offering more brightness for your life

That's a cracking price for the spoiler spraying Shuv, bet you're well chuffed with that! As I'm sure you will be with the outcome as well

Good to hear that you've fallen for the car again - always nice when that happens. With all the crap that goes on in our lives, it's very easy to forget why we bought, and keep, these cars - a little eye-opener does us the world of good

Clios are so special.. just the feeling when you drive it. It feels so much better or expensive to drive when everything is in tiptop condition. My wife yesterday drove my RS because i had couple of pints, and she said that "this is just so good to drive".. i think that sums why we love clios.
And one bonus, you dont have to be awake in nights because of devaluation..

Well behind on your thread mate, seen a few snips on FB. Looking great as always, the spoiler will look spot on as black, will stand out a touch more

Cheers Jimmy

The second i realised it was primer showing through; i thought to myself "That's £250 gone".

The main reason being; the last paintwork i had done was by a guy on our estate who's a one man band; and this seems to be his daily rate for any job. Obviously that's what he needs to cover light, fuel, rates, materials and of course some profit.

The guy i actually went to see first is only a few doors away from my work. I know he's been there for 30 years i can remember - minimum. And in a town of only 11'000 people - i wouldnt have thought you stay in business as a sprayer long without doing good quality work week-in and week-out.

When he said £80 if you pay notes, i couldn't get it off and into his hands fast enough  Needless to say he was the only place i enquired at.

If its decent - he'll be doing my door rubbing strips next.

Love this new theme @sevenfourate! Also impressed how quickly you are progressing the idea. I wouldn't have thought how much difference this could make! I agree with Mes that skirts & a splitter in gloss black would look good too, though I tend to think that splitters are too easily damaged on kerbs & the like on a road car.

Thankyou buddy for your shared love  Sprayer was on my side with the timescale on the spoiler !

I'm definitely doing the gloss black door strips (Have just bought a complete set to have painted) and i'm hopefully getting the B-pillars wrapped gloss black at the weekend.

I'm not going all out dark 'trim'. I want to keep the silver bullets, exhaust tims and rear RS badge for a splash of contrasting colour.

Think tri-colour not bi-colour.....:tonguewink:

So i'll see how i feel about skirts / splitter when those bits are done and fitted.

I've not really done anything to the outside at all so far. All underneath or inside. So this is all a bit of a first for me

I know I've already commented on this, but I feel I need to further stick my oar in. It's so random how one little thing has now given you a new focus/project and lease of life into the car. The black colour-coding thing is going to really set your apart from the other RB's. Nicely done, sir, nicely done

Nail on the head there Micah !

Only I could somehow turn:

A 'wasted' weekend polishing, a screwed up spoiler and the merest whiff of an idea into something quite positive

And for a quite small amount of time and money with all 3 parts going gloss black: I think the difference will be 'enough'

Enough for me, enough to know it's not how they are standard and enough to see a change now. All good.

And thanks everyone for the positive comments

I'm afraid I'm gonna be controversial and say I preferred the spoiler blue...:oops:Actually, no spoiler at all, or a Sprint at a push would have been ideal.
Some carbon bullets and black door handles would have finished it off nicely, then you could have concentrated on the engine

There's always one.....

Seriously Sean - valid and worthwhile opinion. And one that's been voiced in this thread more than once, for sure.

I'm quite excited about how it's going to look and still very glad i went my own way though !!
